When reporting the rise in costs of groceries, the report would separate the chemically grown and the organically grown foods. I have noticed a remarkable increase in the organic sections in my stores. That could be hurting the other companies.

Also, it is logical to me that if you are overweight, obese, that it takes a lot of food to create that condition. I do not know anyone in my life right now that is not trying to be careful what they buy and eat. Those of us that are doing that are looking healthier and, of course, slimmer.
That also means that we are not buying so much food.

I have also noticed more people in the grocery stores buying with a shopping list. By not doing impulse shopping, there will not be as much waste, throwing out foods gone bad. That also saves us money. Not good for the manufacturers though.

Rising food costs could also be incentive to those who are not following the trend I see.

Oh Boy! I just realized that I have forgotten to give thanks before eating. Good thing to begin with breakfast this morning. Giving thanks also to the reporters and investigators who work to report to us companies that may be cutting corners and their product could not be healthy and safe for us.

Eating well and healthier is ALWAYS a good idea Angel. I shop on line and have the food delivered which forces me to not impulse buy. I've helped some seniors do the same thing. The big problem is making them computer friendly. Even though I'm not hurting money wise, that doesn't mean to throw it away. We ALL have to rethink the way we do things. I think it's a good thing. It's forcing us to pay closer attention.
Hang in there Angel.

Good Morning Bob,

That is new to me. Buying food on line??? How does that work? I am sure others would like to learn about that.

For the seniors, most may have a relative or friend who has a computer and willing to take a few minutes to order for them. If they already know what they want, can they order over the phone?

Gee, Bob, paying attention - isn't that a novel idea???! Rethink the way we do things is also profound. When we start this, we may not rely on the government thinking for us in so many ways.

I bless you for I know the Universe already does. Hugs, Aili

There i s a service call "Peapod" that delivers for Stop & Shop. You go on line and reserve you delivery time. Then shop. They honor coupons and have weekly specials. Once yu shop with them, your list stays on and all you do is weekly click on Peapod and go to it. I have three of my neighbors doing it because of our work schedules. It works great. I understand that King Kullen has a service too!
You just have to find out if it's available in your area.

I hope your blog will help others. I would imagine if they talk to the stores they deal with they can find if they deliver.

The closest grocery store to me is 18 mi. round trip. I am the delivery service for others. No big thing to either bring someone to the store with me or pick up a few items for them. I prefer they do their own shopping. 1 - it gets them out of the house and exercising by walking in the store. 2- I end up not wanting to charge them for the items I pick up myself. Not wise for my picketbook.

The raising food prices are due to the use of corn for producing fuel. It is all a conspiracy.

Food, gas, everything has gone up except wages. I do think people can shop smarter, but that only goes so far. I did find a site that gives advice and ways to save on bills that seems OK as well. It has some good tips that I used http://www.needhelppayingbills.com

I just enjoy being here on Earth - in the good times and even the not so good times. My path is to help people to understand that it is all right for everything not to be all right - and how to take care of things.Angel, the poodle, and Ruby, the cat are great teachers, as you can see from the picture. After all, they both accept humans, just as we are!
