Those California people again. Rep Adam Schiff. Author and sponsor of the  proposed resolution for the U.S. to  recognize the Armenian genocide by the Ottoman Empire in 1915. Why?  Well, we just need to be on the "record" that we "recognize" it; and to give us credibility  to such people in the future like Jammerhead Ahmadinejad;   and to  let everybody know we are "understanding and sensitive"to such issues;  and to lend us an equal credibilty   right now, as we seek such  genocide condemnation in Darfur---and ....

Can you believe  the B+ull @#!$.?

When i studied civics many light-years ago, I don't remember this sort of crapolla  being part of what our Central Government was supposed to do.

I guess our reps and senators don't have enough to do up there, so they find an issue.

Of course the Armenians have been trying to stir this pot forever, and it comes in real handy now  and  I am sure they gleefully will dance about when our relations with Turkey as an ally, both politically and in the war effort, will be tainted by our passage of such a resolution.

1915-Turkey,   was a different country and a different time--for Pete's sake!

Let it rest.  No, the Armenians ain't gonna.  They  done wriggled into bed with Sister Pelosi and her gang. And they gonna have a paaaar- teeee!

Now I can understand why the Serbs  always stayed so psssed off over there.--with all the whining and pot-stirring.

BTW, one of my grand-mommas was half  American Indian.  So,  can I get ME  a resolution ?---of  "some sort"?  --you think?

----bullys..crappies.

California is full of blowhard, idiot representatives. Sorry, but that is just the truth. We moved out of there 4 years ago because of crap like this. They are also trying to sneak a gay marriage law through, because they lost in the elections by a huge margin when Californians voted to keep marriage as one man/one woman. They ignore the Constitution, they try to overturn every vote of the people that they don't agree with, they tax you to death, they build underpasses for frogs, they try to pass legislation to jail you for spanking your kid...it goes on and on and on. California has become a joke and I lived there my whole life and I love it, but it's run by nuts now.

I'm so ill of even hearing the term "sensitive". What a bunch of PC BS.

You're right, they obviously don't have enough to do... so go the freak home and get a reeeal job! Find out what it's like to make payroll or actually work to feed your family on $40k a year. Politicans...no wonder they have such a bad reputation!!

I guess you all see that Turkey is psssed off and has recalled their ambassador to the US.
Now, we will play he#ll to get our war material through their country.
I hope Pelosi and Schiff and all em Muslims in southern Calif. get locked in the bed-room together.

That would be justice for them, no doubt.

This kind of BS the liberals keep stirring up is costing us what little respect we have left in Europe.

Turkey has been one of our main support countries for years, and now to watch it seperate itself from us is going to be a sad undertaking.

Californians can destroy an anvil with a napkin.

I have a different take. For anyone that studied this issue, it's about the Ottoman empire's treatment of Christians, and Armenians paid the brunt of it with more than a million or so dead. If Turkey was dominated by such a "peaceful" religion, then they would recognize the bad deed done by their ancestors and move on. But it would be un-muslim like to actually not support murder of Christians now wouldn't it... The Armenian lobby pursues anyone that will listen to them and for some reason the Democratic party found a reason to listen to them in 2007 just to annoy Bush and the so called "ally". An ally that wouldn't authorize the passage of our men and women in uniform at the start of the Iraq war, did anyone remember that? Maybe it was because Christians were attacking a Muslim country... Hmmmm, it just makes you think. Is this really an ally?

Actually, Turkey is a big question mark. Whatever the mix, what support we had from them on military routes are now gone. They are Muslim, and so are the Armenians. I don't think we can trust any of them.

BDABRock, last time I checked, Armenians are Orthodox Christians. Armenia was part of Russia. You might want to check your facts.

I read some history.
Yes, you are correct.
Armenia was the first nation to institute Christianity.
I had in my mind that Armenia was settled principally Muslim over the centuries.
It puts a different light on this subject.
Why would they choose this particular time to push this resolution, since it is going to alienate the US with Turkey?
Thank you for pointing this out. I am one who will take correction when it is deserved-and this is one of those times.

I am still cogitating about this info. I rather doubt if anything I say will change a heart or a life, but one never knows.
