MY HALLOWEEN STORY

One year, when our son was still very young, we took our son to go trick or treating. He was all dressed up as one of his favorite cartoon characters from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We had already gone to several homes and was close to working our way back home. We had decided to go ahead and stop at maybe a couple of more homes, then head on home ourselves. We came to this one house that had several people in the front, so we waited for the crowd to thin out a little, it didn't take too long. The lady that was handing out candy at this particular home kept telling the kids to come on in, which I believe she had meant as, come on in onto her front porch, so she could hand out the candy. All the kids were taking the candy and leaving, so the next group could come up and collect theirs. We finally made our way up to the porch, and she was still telling everyone to "Come on in". I was shocked and shaken at what happened next!! There was someone standing at her front door, with the door wide open. Next thing I knew, my son had just simply walked into their house and the person standing there just let him walk on by!! Without even a thought, I started calling out for my son and went quickly into their house. They must have been having a Halloween party, because there were lots of people inside. Thankfully, he hadn't made it too far into the house, he was standing close by the front door. WHEW!!!! Was I glad I found him right away!!!  I apologized to everyone for just running into their home like that, but they understood and just thought it was cute at what my son had done. That night I hugged my son tighter and held him closer than I probably ever did before. When we returned home, I had a little Mother to son talk to him about the dangers of doing such a thing. I'm sure it was all just a matter of confusion with all the people there, and the lady yelling to "Come on in". I tell this story now, and can laugh about it, but it was definitely no laughing matter at the time....Parents, please remember to keep your eyes wide open when taking your kids trick or treating this Friday. Thank goodness my story had a happy ending, but thinking back on it....there are so many different ways my story could have ended.

Do any of you have a Halloween story you would like to share?

I want to wish ALL of you a very HAPPY HALLOWEEN full of treats, and no (bad) tricks!!! Have fun everyone!! :)

Good morning B2N and Happy Halloween.

No story just wanted to mention that all candy should be checked before eating. It is sad but already there has been glass found in candy that was thrown at an Irving parade.

Ya know when I was a kid we always went to the really rich part of town for trick or treating. We never had to worry about that.

Happy Halloween

As a kid, sooo many years ago, we could even, safely accept fresh baked cookies and such from the homes we visited.
Not anymore.
I have a great idea that would safeguard the kids from the evil doers in this world, when it comes to Halloween.
Each house buys bags of candy vouchers, bottle cap sized cardboard things they hand out, instead of candy.
Then, the parents take the kids to the local stores and trade them in on candy...
No candy is given out by people you don't really know.
We have to take so many steps just to safeguard kids and ourselves due to all the evil in this world...

It's just two more days til my Halloween party..
I am going to be a Zombie and my Wonderful Wife is going to be the Black Widow Spider Queen....
I'll upload pics from the party asap..

See, I told ya, you can't shut me up now.. LOL

GF I'm sure your party is going to be a hoot. Can't wait for the pics. Are you dressing up any of the dogs?

I forgot to say in my comment above please keep all candy away from dogs especially CHOCOLATE. It can be TOXIC to dogs but all candy should be kept in a place where they can not get to it.

Happy Hallowee everyone!!!

Good Morning Bella and GameFreak

I hope you both are doing well this morning. :)

You both are exactly right!!

There are so many evil doers in this world that always have to ruin what could be a very good time for all the trick or treaters out there. It is just so very sad.

GameFreak...I hope you have a great time at your Halloween party!! :)
I hope it is...spook-tacular...LOL :)

One time long ago.

One of my friends Max, got stuck outside on Halloween night.

Some people held him down and spray painted him with green paint.

It got in his eyes and on his whiskers.

This hurt Max. and it made me not like Halloween anymore.

I stay inside now and look out the window.

Max is ok now. and he stays inside too.

Halloween is supposed to be scary. but not like that.

It was a mean thing to do to my friend.

I still like to see the kids in their costumes though.

everyone just remember to be careful.

Hey Fish_breath, great seeing you here!!! :)

I hope you've been doing well!!

OOHHHHH, That was absolutely horrible what they did to your friend!! Too bad there wasn't someone else there who could have helped your friend..It would have been funny to see someone hold those bad guys down and pick up that can of spray paint and spray it all over them...LOL

I can't stand to see someone being cruel to animals for no good reason!! That is just wrong!! :(

Have a great one, Fish_breath!! :)

Hey FB are you sure you don't need glasses? Now I had a DOG named Max. Don't recall him ever turning green though.
