THAT CRAZY PHONE!!!!

How many times have you been in the middle of doing something, and there goes the phone, just ringing away? This could be the regular home phone or even the cell phone. In this story, it's our home phone.

The other day, I'm in the middle of trying to trim and clean a chicken I'm trying to make for dinner. My hands are all full of....well, you know how it is when your trying to clean all the fat off of a chicken. There I am...on a roll...moving along just fine, when....RING....RING!!! UGH!!! MY HANDS...QUICK...WASH THESE HANDS!!...OK...hands washed and dried. Phone still ringing....made it!!! I pick it up and answer it, and....OH....MY....GOSH!!!! You mean I just stopped everything I was doing, just to listen to a sales person trying to sell me something?!?!  You've GOTTA be kidding me!! As much as I hate to admit it, I gave him an ear full of CLICK!! I hung up on the guy and unplugged the phone for the rest of the evening, until I went to bed. I know, some people would have just ignored the ringing. I don't know why...but for some reason, that just doesn't work for me. That ringing just gets to me if I don't answer it. Then, I'm left wondering to myself...who could that have been?!? Now...I've decided to make things a little easier on myself. Just before I begin to start getting dinner ready....UNPLUG THAT PHONE!!!! LOL. I might as well turn off that cell phone too, while I'm at it. I've already had it go off a few times while I'm in the middle of making dinner or washing dishes. What's your crazy phone stories? Please feel free to share them. It's Monday....the best day to share a funny or silly story about your crazy phone problems. LOL :)

HAVE A GREAT MONDAY, EVERYONE!

Good morning B2N. Funny story...thanks for the laugh.

It's Murphy's law...if you're hands are busy then the phone will ring or someone will knock at the door. :)

Good morning TM. Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed my story. It always seems to happen that way...just like you said....as soon as you have your hands busy....there goes the phone, or like you said, too, someone knocks at the door. :)

LOL, I've got to where I'm pretty good at ignoring the door. Unless of course, I'm expecting someone to come by for a visit. :)

In the heat of the recent presidential campaign, one evening the phone rang. I answered with "Vote for _______________ (gave my candidate's name).
Whoever called, hung up. I never found out who it was, if it was a telemarketing call, a family member, or just someone who favored the other candidate! :-)
I thought it was funny, but maybe not everyone thought so.

TM, I have to admit, that is a good way to think about it. LOL, maybe I should try to have more patients. It's just that for me, when I'm in the middle of trying to make dinner,(especially),I don't like to be distracted by the phone. Believe me, with the way I cook...the less distractions...the better. LOL :)

madeintexas, that is hilarious!!!! :)
I wish I had the guts to do something like that!! Thanks for the LAUGH OUT LOUD moment!!

TM and madeintexas...I hope you both have a GREAT day full of laughter and smiles!! :)

I have my answering machine pick up. If it's someone who I know they will start to leave a message and I'll pick up. If it's a telemarketer they disconnect halfway through the message.
Lately I've been receiving robot calls for someone I don't know. I've called the number they left and told them they have the wrong number and they still call my home. I did tell them the last time that the next call from them gets reported as harassment. So far they haven't called. Hopefully they found that Mrs. S they are looking for.

LOL PA...That's exactly what I need. An answering machine. Can you believe I've never bought one?!? Crazy, huh?

You know something PA, that's another great idea...I should tell them the same thing that you told that person, and see what happens then. Thanks for the great idea, I can try that. :)

PA I have had the samething happen to me with my cell phone. When I first got my cell phone I had a guy calling for some chic, I kept telling him he had the wrong number but he would continue to call. Finally he got irratated with me and told me to tell so and so if they didn't want to talk to him all they had to do was tell him not lie and say it was a wrong number. I just laughed him and said "OK". Some people...

I have a rule, if I am at work, I will answer my phone, if not, it does not get answered...
If it is someone that really needs to get in touch with me, they will call my wifes phone after they don't get an answer on mine..
I hate talking on the phone..

I did get several calls from a number that I Googled, and found a forum, people said they answered the calls from that number and it was a recording stating "Your extended warranty on your late model vehicle is about to expire."
But the number that showed up actually belongs to some man in Arizona....
Scammers...

B2N and TM, have Y'all heard from Bella lately ??
I haven't had an e-mail from her in a week now, sent her one yesterday, but no reply so far...

GameFreak, I heard from one of the bloggers that her computer broke. I don't know exactly what happened to it, other than that.

I've been missing her, too.
If you'd like, you can leave a message on the "Happy Birthday Bella" post that cowboyswife made for her. :)

You can find it here in the entertainment section. I've left a couple of messages for her there, already.

Have a great day!! :)

Did you know that if someone calls you unsolicited that you can say "anything" you want as long as you don't threaten them? I can get pretty nasty with them. One night a woman asked wasn't her offer a great deal. I told her to come over, get her clothes off, and we would get in bed and talk about it. She never called back. I have a blast with it. I am doing away with my home phone. Going cell only.

Thanks moankie, I didn't know that. :)

LOL, knowing me, I couldn't be anything more than polite to them. Although, sometimes after I get off the phone with them, I DO sometimes wish I could just tell them exactly what I'm thinking, especially the rude ones. I mean...you tell them no thank you, and they get all huffy and mad just because you said no. Those are the ones that REALLY get to me!!!

LOL, now THAT was funny what you said to that woman! Can you imagine the look on her face? :)

We've been thinking about just going with cell phones only, too. Maybe, starting next year.

Caller ID works wonder for this. Don't know the number or the name, don't answer.

My phone usually rings when there is a TV show that I really want to watch comes on. If it is family, I have the remote for the recorder close and tape the show.

What I hate is when I do answer and it is a sales call with a human voice and they won't take no for an answer. I have had people try to continue the sales pitch after I have asked for their supervisor and we are waiting for them to pick up the call.

Oh my gosh NORTHTX, I know EXACTLY what you mean by that!!

We have had that exact same thing happen here!!

LOL, our home phone is one of those phones that doesn't display the caller ID on it.
I've had that phone since waaaaaaay back.
LOL, maybe I should invest in one of those caller ID phones, huh? :)

B2N, maybe you could put that in your letter to Santa. You could get a portable and just keep close by in the kitchen. Phone rings, check the id, don't know them, keep stripping that chicken, let em listen to the ring.
