GOOD LUCK WITH THIS ONE!
Five brothers share a common trait of forgetfulness that has gotten them in hot water with their girlfriends. After a string of forgotten birthdays, anniversaries and even dates, the brothers' girlfriends were fed up. After a brainstorming session, the brothers devised a new holiday - Girlfriend Appreciation Day. For the big day, the five brothers have dates with their girlfriends. Each one bought a different gift and a dozen roses of a different color. Each couple is going to a different destination on their date. Determine each brother's name, the name of their girlfriend, the gift and color of roses he is giving her, and their date destination.

Brothers - Ted, Tim, Tom, Travis, Tyler
Girls - Andrea, Brooke, Jessica, Laura, Vanessa
Gift - Bracelet, Candy, Music Box, Necklace, Ring
Color of Roses - Pale Purple, Pink, White, Red, Yellow
Date Destinations - Basketball Game, Dinner, Ice-Skating, Movie, Theater

1. The five brothers are: Tyler, the brother giving his girlfriend the ring and red roses, the one giving his girlfriend pink roses, the one taking Laura to a movie, and the one taking his girlfriend ice-skating.
2. The five girlfriends are: Andrea (who isn't going to the basketball game), the woman getting the ring, Brooke (who isn't getting the bracelet); Ted's girlfriend, and the one getting the candy and the yellow roses.
3. The brother taking his girlfriend to the movie is either Tim or Tyler (who isn't giving his girlfriend the necklace).
4. Vanessa and Ted's girlfriend (who isn't receiving the necklace) are, in some order, the woman going to the theater and the one receiving white roses.
5. Neither Travis nor Tom (whose girlfriend isn't Andrea) is taking his girlfriend to the basketball game.

Try your mind.  If not figured out by Friday will provide answers.

Anyone been watching  this Series on PBS?  I have found it to be a most interesting series. I am a patriotic person to begin with and the stories being told and the footage and pictures shown are something else.  I have learned a good bit, mostly about the blunders some of the top military brass made and how badly prepared the US was when attempting some moves in the fighting. Many stories of courage and conviction during the hardest of those times.  Many sad stories as well.

We lost a great many good people during that time and I salute them and the ones that made it home.

The other side came out far worse than we did and in addition their homes and workplaces and schools and many other facilities were destroyed.

It has been a good watch and I think I saw something about it being on again one night a week for several weeks but I cannot saw which night or what time.

God bless us all.

What are your thoughts on the ones that did not appear for the republican debate on PBS last night?  Knowing that they cannot make it to all the activities people propose for them.  Will this hurt them in the polls or not?

My opinion is that it is hogwash to begin with.  Scripted questions and answers and mainly for show.  At this point their not being there will not make a difference on me making up my mind.

In reading about all this and the fact that an alleged illegal, 19 year old, driving drunk, without a license, was the culprit, I got to thinking.  It hurt a bit and some would say a little unsual for me to be so thoughty but I went the extra and did it anyhow.

My question, for anyone that can answer, is this;  A non US citizen, no matter how they came to be here.  If they snuck in and are illegal as all get out or if they came the proper way and have the papers or cards as they should.  When they apply for a license to drive do they have to prove in any way they are qualified?  Have had driver training?  Do they have to take any training or a road test?  What is the proceedure for an immigrant or an illegal to get a drivers license in N.C.? Then was he or the vehicle owner insured? ( More than "A" question but still...)

Beyond that my prayers go out to those hurt by this.

I cannot bring myself to call it an accident. Closer to murder.

My church is looking to get a music night started and is looking for ideas on groups or persons that would be available to perform.  Could not be a lot of money involved, at least in the beginning,  but a love offering would always be taken up with 100% to the performer (s).  Looking for young or old, bluegrass, southern gospel or modern.

If you, or if you know of someone, are interested let me know how I can get in contact.

I appreciate any thoughts or ideas anyone may have.

Anyone know what was going on that caused the evacuation yesterday?  All ordered out of the store and Mebane police and fire departments, Sheriff and state troopers on hand blocking the entrances to the parking lot.  Was in the store wen it happened and waited a while in the parking lot but not long enough to see the end of it or find out the cause.

What are your thoughts on Fred Thompson?  If he does join the chase, is he getting in to late?  Does he have a valid chance?  Will this just muddy the water even more?

Do you have an opinion?  Or a thought?  Do you share those with others or keep them to yourself?  Are you one to speak out? Or mutter under your breath?

Me, I figure if he is running a second in the polls before he declares he should move up one notch if he does in fact delcare as a candidate.  Will have to wait and see whathe has to say about things before I decide on who will get my vote.

Do you have a favorite at this point?  One that stands out just a little above the others in the running?  Got so many running now they could provide the next surge in Iraq.

Anyone watch the games the past week or two?  I got to see a couple leading up to the championship and the first half of yesterdays game between Warner Robbins, GA and Japan and have got to say THAT IS REAL BASEBALL.  Kids played their hearts out and played really well.  That I can watch and cheer for.

Three cheers for Warner Robbins.

Aug. 21st. marked our 42nd year of mostly blissful wedded life.  Some bumps to be sure abut we are hanging together.

We decided to take flatch's advice and head to the outer banks for a few days.  When the kids were growing up we went two or three times a year but have not been for about 20 years or so.  Man have they changed things.  Houses everywhere and especially in a lot of places where was only sand 20 years ago.

We toured Edenton on the way to Nags Head then took highway 12 south.  Intended to take in the Lost Colony but found it closed for the season on the 16th.  Visited the three light houses on the way to Hatteras and rode the ferry from Hatteras to Okracoke and then Okracoke to Cedar Island.  From there to Morehead City and Atlantic Beach.  Then back up to Beaufort and across to get the Minnesott Beach ferry but missed it by 5 minutes.  From there went to Havelock, New Bern, Grantsboro and Aurora and missed the ferry to Swan Quarter by 15 minutes.  Back thru Aurora and up to Washington then Bath, Sidney, Belhaven and on to Stumpy Point and back into Manteo.  Visited two aquariums , one in Pine Knoll Shores and one in Manteo.  Also the Elizebethton Gardens. Made a bunch of stops along the way to shop, eat or just take a picture of something.

Drove a bunch of miles and had a great time doing it.  Even got a free night in a motel in Atlantic Beach and it was the nicest motel room I have seen

Was great to go and was great to get back home.

Peace to all.

Don't you think it is just to early for high school football to be starting?  Tonight at gametime it will still be in the 90 degree area and humid as all get out.  This is gonna be very tough on those kids.

Think also about setting in the stands, t-shirt and shorts and dripping sweat like crazy.  Kinda hard to get into a football fever when you are busy fanning yourself with the program.  Guess they will sell plenty of cold drinks tho.

I will go but I cannot say if I will enjoy it much.

Hard to believe it has been 30 years.

Also hard to believe he made 27 million bucks in the past year alone.  He is the top earner by far in the deceased category.

Not many singers that can do the range of types of songs Elvis was able to handle.  Being part of "that" generation I enjoy all his singing but if I had to pick a favorite kind it would be the gospel.  He put much feeling and soul into those.

Rock on Elvis.

Wonder what they were up to?
