One of my dad’s favorite annual gifts was his “Word-A-Day” calendars. One of us would always get him a new one for Christmas every year. Each day of the week had a new word and the definition for that word. A new word wasn’t revealed until the previous day’s word had been torn off the calendar.

As if my dad wasn’t “loquacious” (one his favorite “new” words) enough, Dad loved using the new words he learned.

Dad and this day have inspired me to post a word every now and then. Here is my word for the day. - Déjà vu

“The experience of déjà vu is usually accompanied by a compelling sense of familiarity, and also a sense of "eeriness", "strangeness", or "weirdness". - Wikipedia

"1. feeling of reliving something: a feeling of having experienced something before, although in fact it is the first time that it has been experienced. 2. boredom: a state of boring familiarity or repetitiveness." - Encarta

I don’t know what made that word pop into my head today (teehee), but I thought I’d just toss it out there and wondered if anyone else has ever experienced “Déjà vu”.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

ok.....this is a really creepy story....it still freaks me out when i think about it...a few years back...we were driving to Jefferson Texas....i'd never been there before...but anyway, a few miles west of Marshall, off the side of the interstate there was an old barn....dilapidated, about to just fall over....anyway...when i saw it...i instantly "recognized" it...i "remembered" it somehow...i swear i had never been this far on i-20 before....as we were passing it, for some reason in my head i saw one of those old timey water pumps....the old ones with the crank handle.....then low and behold, around the back side of this barn was one of those old water pumps and a well.....creepiest thing that ever happened to me.....still can't explain it....why this old barn seemed so familiar to me is unexplainable....and how did i know there was a water pump behind it??....i'll never forget that day....i tried to tell my wife about it when it happened....she said i was crazy....that i had to have seen it somewhere before.........but i hadn't....it still boggles me.......

Ted AND PA, Sometimes I’ll hear or see something that I swear I’ve seen or heard before. Sometimes it’s as if I can almost predict the future. LOL

Have ya’ll seen “Ground Hog Day”? Maybe life’s like that. We just keep living the same bunch of crap over and over and over again.

I had a great day PH, thanks for asking.

"One time they accidentally put me in their little email loop and I know what kind of treachery and hate they spread amongst themselves."

I'm sorry you had to need to say something like that, bugs, but at least now you've dropped your faced of pretence.
That is not only untrue but "treachery & hate"? Are you serious?? If the incident ever happened, you might need to consider sarcasm and an acute sense of humor, not treachery, for gosh sakes.
But, it's always better to know how people honestly feel, instead of viewing their deceptions. At least you got that cleared up for me.

Hi Chard!

What I said is very true. I've mentioned it before. I won't name names because I don't discuss (unlike others) who I email with or the content of the emails, but it did happen.

Do you save your old emails? I got my first pot stirring email on 11/16/06. That’s one of the reasons I don’t email with anyone anymore. I was getting all kinds of emails about crap on the blog.

If you noticed, I took my email out my bio a long time ago; that’s why I took it down.

I’m guilty of discussing members and the blog in emails, but the few people I choose to email with don’t enjoy talking about the blog so we don’t talk about it.

One friend of mine insists that we NEVER talk about the “blogosphere”.

You said yourself that one of the reasons you and Lee had problems was that you weren't willing to play along with his games. By the way, the subject line of that first email was, “Let the GAMES Begin.” LOL

You know exactly what I'm talking about. When you say that type of stuff doesn’t go on in emails, everyone who has ever received one of those emails knows differently.

If I weren’t so familiar with the way “things” go around here I’d say that all this “Kum baya” stuff going around was good, but I think we both know better.

I wish it were true, but I’ve been around too long to take anything at face value around here.

How was I deceptive?

Was I being deceptive by not voicing my opinion and keeping it to myself so as not to offend anyone? That’s just being polite. Maybe I’m tired of being polite to mean people and that’s wrong on my part. I was raised to be polite to EVERYONE.

What is deceptive is when members email evil schemes amongst themselves and then come here to smear up the blog with their games. That’s when I stop being polite.

Chard, I don’t care what people say about my politics or religion. As a matter of fact you know that I enjoy a spirited civil debate every now and then and even “bait” people sometimes just to get a rise, but when I see dark clouds rolling in like I saw yesterday, I can’t help but think there is a storm on the horizon.

Call me paranoid and I hope I’m wrong.

As far as you go Chard, if any one of the “trouble makers” has earned some respect around here from me, it’s been you. I know that doesn’t mean much, but I can see a big difference in the way you communicate with others.

…but when I see Lee, acoolone, and Lamb all magically appear on the same day, my mind races back to the good old days that weren’t so good.

PS: If you really want me to I guess I could post the partial email addresses and text of emails or I could email them to you (your email address is on the email), but I think that would make many people very unhappy.

I really do hope you’re having a good day!:)

No, I have no idea... but then, I couldn't tell you what we had for dinner monday. lol As I said - sarcasm & humor, mostly... we discussed a lot of things with many people, that certainly don't enter the realm of seriousness. And I wouldn't perceive anything said as 'treachery & hate'. I don't personal hate anyone or hold 'grudges' for long... it's senseless. That was point, that you'd insinuate something when you might be wrong. Well, whatever you choose to think, is up to you.
As for kumbaya, I know what you mean... I think things will improve, have improved! Much of the past foolishness, is the past. It would be progressive if the ones solely wanting trouble would move along to something else, but no, I don't see that happening.

Did you say you'd gotten a dog yet or not? Can't remember, but our neighbor just got a English bull pup... omg!, never saw anything so cute!

p.s. I don't know why you'd want to post an old personal email to or from anyone.. never a very good or kind idea, it seems to me.
Having a good day indeed - $85 boots for $20! :)).... but wow, that wind is a bear!

LOL@Chard and her boots. CONGRATULATIONS! It is a bit nippy out there isn’t it?

You know allegiances change so much around here I’m not even sure who “they” are anymore.

I hate this “us and them” mentality that goes on around here.

No we don’t all believe in the beliefs, but we’re all humans. We can tenaciously debate politics or religion (ouch) without throwing in a “stupid” or “dumb azz” towards the person. There’s no reason to call someone “retarded” because of their opinions.

It’s OK to think it, but it’s personally offensive and rude to say it.

My major concern is the new people who come here. You have to admit it’s nice to infuse some new blood into this place every once in while, but WE (including me) act like such a bunch of out of control baboons, that there haven’t been any good new members for a while or at least none that stuck around very long.

I don’t believe in sharing emails and I haven’t yet. Those emails were more like “I just posted this to cause trouble (the web address of the post) go there and join in on the fun.”

It’s fun to cause “trouble”? It’s fun to clog the board with posts that are posted for the sole purpose of disrupting the forum or to cause another member grief? That’s not fun, that’s childish.

No, no new puppy until the weather warms up. It’s too cold for me to house train a new puppy, but if the right German Shepard puppy crosses my path in the mean while, that might change.

...err I left out the word "same" in "believe the "same" beliefs.

I don't care for the us/them think either, but that's what it became, honestly. And yes, I don't think causing trouble is fun.... I sometimes get frustrated with many things that are said, but as you say, it's just an opinion and like butts, everyone has one. LOL

Our daughter has a GS... mercy, such a strong dog.. he can pull her down the street! lol But, he's protective and sweet.

Gotta get back to work..... hope the rest of your day is good. Sun seems to be coming out! :)

Yeah, I never liked picking sides. I HATED it in Jr. High and High School. I’m pretty much a loner. I don’t like my posts on the front page and I enjoy hanging around having a private discussion on some old post rather than JOIN a crowd.

I wanted you to know how much I appreciated you and PA not getting in mine and Pant’s discussion the other day. I know it must have been difficult for both of you. Pants is lucky to have loyal friends like you and PA.

Bugs was strong as an ox, but gentle as a puddy cat. He’d let kids literally roll all over him and he only growled at two people his entire life and they were both criminals. I sure do miss him.!:(

Anyway, things have quieted down quite a bit and the alters seem to have found their “real” selves for a while. I guess we should just make the best of it while it lasts.

We never got any sun down here today, but I went a mile up the road into DeSoto earlier and it was sunny. Go figure.

I hope you have/had a good evening!:)

It was hard not to be on 'sides' in school... seems it was the natural order of things, this crowd or that crowd. I didn't like it either and went both ways with friends and got some snotty looks from both 'sides'. lol

I like pants... he's rather loud and in your face, but he seems to have a good heart or something. Seems many don't like him, but hey, whatever, I do.

It's hard getting over pets. Our cocker spaniel died 4 yr. ago and I still miss him. So sweet and loyal... mercy. Best dog we ever had. Another can never replace the missing family member, but another can make a NEW member and help fill the void.

Spotted a new alter this a while ago... asking where didlee and some others go? LOL Probably lee? lol

I'm off... have a good tomorrow.

Deja vu ( how do you make the little do-dads over the letters?)

Anyway, I've experienced deja vu many times in my life and it's one of the weirdest feelings you can experience.

It's almost like being in a trance. You're in a setting, and you just KNOW what someone is going to say or do NEXT! You wonder, "Did I dream this?"

Hi, Bugsy!

BTW, I went to add you to my favorites to keep track of ya, but I don't see the link.

What's up with that?

The little doo-dads just popped up when I wrote the word “Déjà vu” in word. They copy/pasted over to here.

I don’t know what’s up with the favorites thingy. Thank you.

Too many experience it for it not to be real. Perhaps familiar circumstances trigger familiar memories. I never realize its happening until it’s over.

I hope you're having a great evening!

People are great! I love animals. Humor is very important as are tolerance and compassion. The “Golden Rule’ is good and “There but for the grace of God go I,” is true. My faith defines who I am as a person. I always learn a lot more when I’m listening than when I’m talking. Sometimes my humor and fingers run ahead of my brain so if I ever personally offend anyone, please smack me upside the head and tell me so. One of my all time favorite quotes is from the television show “Frasier”. “Civilization's not going to progress one iota unless someone points out when peoples' manners are remiss.” Daphne Moon. If I had to choose a movie which most paralleled my life, I’d be torn between Prince’s “Purple Rain” and “Forest Gump”. "Feather" from "Forest Gump" and "Purple Rain" are the theme songs posted on my "about me" page at my website. My life has been a wild and adventurous ride filled with laughter, pain, glamour, heartache, and joy. From one minute to the next, life never seems to be the same as the day before. I’m the epitome of narcissism and try to remain humble. Feel free to comment at any time, just, in the words of a popular blogger, “keep it real”. I’m here to have fun; please do the same.
