I THINK FOR THE CITY COUNCIL TO VOTE TO HAVE ELECTIONS SO LATE IN THE GAME IS TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE. FIRST OF ALL THE CITY CAN'T AFFORD IT AND SECONDLY THEY SAY THE CITIZENS OF DETROIT HAVE A RIGHT TO VOTE FOR WHO WE WANT FOR MAYOR WELL WE ALREADY DID WE WE VOTED COCKREL AS THE PRESIDENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL WHICH THE CHARTER ALSO STATES THE PRESIDENT WOULD BECOME MAYOR IF THE SEAT WAS VACATED. COME ON PEOPLE WHEN WILL WE STOP PUTTING POLITICS BEFORE PEOPLE? HAVEN'T WE WASTED ENOUGH MONEY THE LAST 7 YRS TO NOW THROW AWAY 3 MILLION MORE DOLLARS? WE STILL HAVE TO DEAL WITH THE TAMARA GREEN CASE, 8 MILLION ON THE WHISTLE BLOWER CASE, 141 THOUSAND A MONTH TO THE JUSTICE DEPT, THOUSANDS IF NOT MILLIONS IN ATTORNEY FEES AND NO TELLING HOW MUCH MORE WE LOST DEALING WITH OTHER LAW SUITS AND UNDER  THE TABLE DEALS BY THE MAYOR AND HIS PEOPLE. IT'S TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE DETROIT AND THAT MEANS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM IF WE ARE EVER GOING TO RE-ESTABLISH OURSELVES AS A THRIVING CITY FOR THE WORLD TO TAKE SERIOUSLY ONCE AGAIN.

ONE THING ABOUT LIFE IS NO MATTER HOW INDISPENSABLE WE THINK WE ARE WE CAN BE REPLACED. FROM PLANTS WHEN YOU PICK ONE ANOTHER ONE GROWS, TO INSECTS WHEN ONE DIES ANOTHER TAKES ITS PLACE , TO HUMANS WHEN ONE IS GONE FOR WHATEVER THE REASON WE MAY BE SAD, HEARTBROKEN, GRIEF STRICKEN AND EVEN FEEL  ALONE FOR A WHILE BUT ONE THING FOR SURE AS TIME GOES ON SO DOES LIFE. SO  RATHER WE FEEL THE CITY WILL SUFFER LOSS OR IT WILL BE BETTER OFF WITHOUT THE MAYOR AND ALL THE DRAMA THAT HAS TAKEN PLACE REMEMBER THIS: AS SURE AS A NEW SUN RISES EVERY MORNING SO WILL A NEW DAY AND IN THAT DAY SOMETHING OR SOMEONE WILL BE OR WILL HAVE BEEN REPLACED.

The Bible says "For the love of money is the root of all evil" but let's not get it twisted for some like to say money is the root but that's not so. People have killed and plotted to kill friends,co workers and loved ones.Some have sold their body, mind and even their soul all for the love of money for it's not the money but what one is willing to do for or to obtain it. Yes it's inticing in the heat of the moment but the consequences can be long lasting and devastating.It has chanced lives, marriages, broken up families and even caused some their freedom. So the next time you take that white envelope with that green piece of paper with the faces of Presidents on it think about what is it really costing me? But even more then that.....is it really Worth it?

I recently spoke to my cousin Kiera the 8th grader who scolded Monica Conyers for her childish outbreak in the City Council Chambers for I was concerned about what happened after the camera cut off on the end of the interview. She said Monica called her a little girl and said her mother and father told her to say what she said because don't know child think like that. First of all how can you invite a group of middle school students to meet with you, ask them what they think about what she did, then try to intimidate them when they tell you that you were wrong? I knew this woman had problems but to ambush a child after asking them what they think is both ignorant and close to abusive. And as a child we learned early you are suppose to be kind to your guest.

A father is one whom the Bible declares along with a mother should be honored by their children so their days will be long upon the earth. It doesn't say if it is a good father or a bad father but the honor goes with the position to benefit the child. But in one place Jesus does say what son who ask his father for a slice of bread and he would give him a stone, or for a piece of fish and he give him a serpent? Which tells me that a father is one who is expected to provide for his family those things which are necessary for day to day life. While in society today we have far too many fatherless homes and men who fail to uphold their responsibility but I am sure there are still a lot of good fathers out here taking care of their responsibility and for those who don't there are some mothers who are doing their best to fulfill both roles. Being the father of 7 children and now both the Grand-father and father figure of 7 of 12 grand-children because 2 of my sons are now deceased let's me know that fatherhood is a lifetime commitment. Men before you lay down for that few moments of pleasure you need to think twice about what the results could be. And for whatever we lack within our power we have a Father in heaven whose eye is on the sparrow and he says he knows what we have need of even before we ask him. So for those who are not living up to your responsibility you need to get busy, and for those who are:

MONICA CONYERS, BARBARA ROSE COLLINS AND MARTHA REEVES WROTE A LETTER TO THE GOVERNOR SAYING THAT SHE SHOULD NOT REMOVE KWAME FROM OFFICE BUT SHE SHOULD LET THE CITY HANDLE HIM. THEN THEY STATED THEY WERE NOT DECEIVED BY THE DEAL MADE AFTER THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TEXT MESSAGES CAME OUT BUT THE REST OF THE COUNCIL CLAIM THEY WERE. EITHER SOMEBODY IS LYING OR THEY HAVE BEEN RUBBER STAMPING EVERYTHING THAT KWAME AND FRIENDS HAVE BEEN SENDING THROUGH THERE AND PROBABLY GETTING KICKBACKS IN THE PROCESS. CAN WE REALLY TRUST ANY OF THEM AT THIS POINT?  OR FOR THAT MATTER WHO IS PRESENTLY IN OFFICE THAT WE CAN TRUST?

WELL ANOTHER LAW SUIT HAS BEEN FILED AGAINST THE CITY AND YOU CAN REST ASSURED THERE WILL BE MORE LIES. THE MAYORS OFFICE HAS ALREADY PUT OUT A STATEMENT IMPLYING THAT THE OFFICER ALMOST DOES NOT EXIST NOT TO MENTION WORKED ON THE MAYORS PROTECTION UNIT. THEY ALSO PLAN TO ATTACK THE OFFICERS CREDITABILITY JUST AS THEY DID THE OTHER 3 EIGHT MILLION DOLLAR BABIES. IT DON'T MATTER IF THE OFFICER DANCED AT THE PARTY THAT DON'T MEAN IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. IT SEEMS THESE ALLEGATIONS WILL BE SAID TO DISCREDIT THE OFFICERS CHARACTER BUT BY NOW THEY SHOULD HAVE LEARNED THE MAJORITY OF DETROITERS HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN OUR PRESENT LEADERSHIP SO THIS PLAN WILL SOON BACKFIRE. AS FOR THE NEW CAMPAIGN AD BEING RAN BY MARY WATERS SHE FORGET TO MENTION THE PART WHERE CAROLYN SAID "WE WILL APPEAL THIS VERDICT NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT COST THE CITY". IM SURE THAT WAS BEFORE SHE READ HER SONS LOVE NOTES TO HIS MISTRESS. IM SURE GLAD SHE'S NOT THE CITY TREASURER....HOLD THE PURSE TIGHT JANICE.

Well Kwame is still in office inspite being booed off the stage during the Red Wings victory celebration. It seems you can fool some of the people some of the time but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. This was a crowd he couldn't hand pick, couldn't summons by private invite and certainly couldn't convince he was innocent. Hillary on the other hand is out of the race due to a horrible decision by Michigan and Florida to vote early and make us lose out on our total amount of delegates. Whose idea was this anyways? In one of the most important times in the history of this country we decide to do something different. Well can't cry over spilled milk maybe this week will be a better one.

SHOULD SPORTS DO AS POLITICS HAVE DONE AND KEEP KWAME AT A DISTANCE SEEING THAT HE HAS DISGRACED THE NAME OF DETROIT AND GIVEN IT A BLACKEYE? HIS CHARGES OF PERJURY, MISCONDUCT AND CORRUPTION HAVE DIVIDED THE CITY TO THE POINT THAT ONLY HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS AND THOSE WHO PROFIT FROM HIM BEING IN OFFICE WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIM.

Everybody seems to be upset about the comment the Mayor made about our ancestors dying for us to be able to have a right to a fair trial. He was not the first to say this remember his mother said it in the speech when he was campaigning for re-election and his dirt was being revealed, she said "Turn them televisions off, he didn't just come up in here, yall put him in here. To many people died for us to be here. Now we see where he get's his thinking from. She too has been quietly doing little for Detroit while in office but her deeds have only come to the spot light since his troubles have surfaced. And let's not forget her comments concerning the whistle blower verdict.She said we will appeal no matter how much it cost the city. We? I had no idea we had more then one Mayor but as they say....when you find a good thing....keep it.

First of all let me say that I believe all men were created equal. God gave all of us the tools to accomplish in life anything that we would like to accomplish. Although there may be more obstacles for some then others with a made up mind and hard work anything is possible. Nevertheless the reality is the world is made up of leaders and followers for even the Bible says "wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be that find it. But straight is the gate and narrow is the way that leadeth to life everlasting and few there be that enter therein. Which seems to explain why so many are still willing to follow a man who has lied to and deceived us from the very beginning of his administration with his smooth talk, charming ways and empty promises. Even before he was elected i'm sure he had his plans for Detroit and it's pocketbook. Had we did our homework rather then looking at him as a homeboy insisting because he was born and raised in Detroit he knew what we needed we would have nipped this playa in the bud long before now. I too had high hopes for him even though I didn't vote for him because I felt he was too young and street savy at the moment to run a city like Detroit. But after listening to one of his mother's speeches I soon realized the saying "you can take a person out of his enviroment, but you can't take the enviroment out of the person" was definitely true. The saddest part is even some Judges, Preachers and Elected Officials still believe in him, not because he is good for Detroit or it's residents but for their own self serving purposes. Some have even jeopardized their own political hopes to be elected or re-elected because they have fallen victim to his charm and benefitted by his family and friends plan. So the next time your near or hear a Kwame supporter beware for they could be contagious. If you don't believe me ask Monica, Barbara and Martha.

Memorials Day has it's purpose in it's own special way. The Country reflects on the lives lost during our past wars. I'm sure there will be those reflecting on the lives taken and even given during the Civil Rights struggle. And some will be reflecting on their loved ones their sons, daughters, mothers and fathers. I personally have lost two sons in the last 7 years. One was killed a day before his 18th birthday in 2001 shot by a maniac who shot into a crowd of teens not concerned about who he hit. We went from preparing for his birthday celebration to preparing for his funeral. The other was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2007. However we mourn it is a loss rather we consider it senseless or not. Hopefully we can learn from the lives no longer with us that tomorrow is not promised to anyone, You only get one lifetime to get it right, The wrong decision could be your last one and Rather your here or not life will go on.......!

Happy Memorials Day

Some have complained about do we really want the State with a White Governor interferrng in the business of a Black mayor and his City. Let me be the first to ask what does color have to do with it? Saddam murdered his own people for years and no one said anything about it. But once his own people had their say we saw him hanging by a rope in the middle of Baghdad. It took an outside force to remove him from power and so might it take to remove Kwame.  We have a Black Mayor, City Council, Prosecutor, Police Chief, County Sheriff and the largest NAACP membership in the country yet we have to pay the Justice Department over 2 million dollars a year to monitor the Detroit Police whom we also pay. It has already been 4 yrs and the judge just extended it another 5. We have the worst civil rights record against it's people in the nation. This is not Sparta Mississippi or some backwoods town in Alabama this is Detroit, the Motor City. Do we say it's ok to mistreat, rob, deceive, steal from or even kill as long as it's your own people?  So what do I care who saves us from this regime who is holding us captive and refuses to release us until every bit of money, integrity and respect is gone? As long as the persons heart which is colorless is in the right place it could be anyone.

Let me first say to those who believe that all Detroiters voted for Kwame the first or second time, we didn't. He was actually behind in the polls the second time when his crafty advisors chose to run a add about a woman who was disrupting a school board meeting being carried out because she was out of control. Not to mention the ballot playing that Jackie Currie did for them but she lost and he won. The most of us neither go along with what has happened in the past nor what's happening now but because of those who were deceived our City is being held hostage by a regime who will not quit until the last of the money is spent. I bet if he and his staff had to take pay cuts they would leave voluntarily. As for his choice to represent him with the Governor he chose a woman after his own heart. She dogged him as an opponent but has embraced him as a partner and ally because they are two of the same. She also embraced Dr Snead who cost the Detroit School system millions including paying for their lavish wedding with DPS money. The other fellow has only joined the pool of sharks who see money to be made in Detroit and a leadership who has no problem with throwing it up. And to be so called pro black Mr Mayor you have sure surrounded yourself with another color. What's wrong are there none of your own qualified to represent you?

I just saw on the news that the Mayor was suppose to be in court today but was a no show. Christine was there, the lawyers were there but no Kwame? They said he was in texas on business. I thought he was suppose to notify the court when he had to be out of town? The only was Giles is going to get any respect is to tether him like the Judge did Christine before he makes a fool out of him and openly show that he is a ally of his. Giles looked like a little kid having a temper tantrum saying he was suppose to be here physically, he is a defendant in a criminal preceding. Kwame fears no one he thinks he is untouchable and anyone who tries to chastise him is foolish and only wasting their time and money. I'm sure he's not worried about the Governor doing anything either as long as the rich folks that he has sold the city to and his friends and family whom he has passed on Government, State and local money keeps his pockets lined.
