Keeping it simple

We all know about the KISS method for getting things done. But I can't say I've been more inclined to integrate that into my lifestyle than now, as a mom. All you want is quick and easy! I'm also more cognizant of how we treat Mother Earth. Not only is it important for us to treat her kindly, but in doing so, we are teaching our children how to do the same, thus giving them an more healthy envorinment to thrive. The world we leave behind will be theirs. How will they treat it? What are you doing in your home to teach your little ones (or your spouse) to be "greener". One resource is www.springfieldmoms.org with a list of ways to be green. What resources have you found to help?

I have to admit that the pain at the gas pump is having one good effect on people....we're all thinking "greener." Many people are trying to find ways to not only save money, but also help the environment at the same time. I've started not accepting plastic bags at stores. It's a hard habit to get into, but it sure can make a difference. One plastic bag takes 200 years to degrade in a landfill! That's a lot of plastic bags for a lot of years! I also try to re-use plastic bags as much as I can. But it doesn't stop there....whether you're using organic products, taking the bus, or just turning off your air conditioning, it's all saving money and energy, and letting Mother Earth breathe! I'd love to get a hybrid car, however right now there is a waiting list a mile long for one. Still $70 to fill up my tank is getting a little old. So how are you helping make things greener

Now that the Presidential tickets are shaping up, what is your idea of the ideal running mates for John McCain and Barack Obama? Of course, we're hearing a lot of talk about Hillary Clinton joining Obama. Makes sense since they both lead strong campaigns, but how can that fare against McCain? Would it matter whom he chose as a VP canididate? Check out details on the campaigns at

and tell us your opinion!!!

The Democratic convention has yet to take place, yet many Democrats are already saying that Barack Obama is the clear winner to be their Presidential Candidate.

Do you think that Hillary Clinton should stay positive and fight until the very end, or is she fighting a losing battle? What do you think she needs to do to win the nomination?

Your vote counts!

Republicans have a long wait to November, with little fanfare or drama on who will be on the ballot for President. Democrats are living quite another experience. See the results of who's on top at Fox News
http://elections.foxnews.com/
But where is your vote going? If you're a Republican, are you throwing your vote away to pick a Democratic candidate that, in your opinion, could lose against John McCain? If you are a Democrat, how are you choosing your candidate? Charisma? Experience? Race? Religion?

How far will gas prices go?

Had it with high gas prices? Is there a limit to what you will pay? It's one commodity that leaves little recourse for high prices if you drive alot. Now gas prices, already at an all time high, are expected to go even higher as the summer travel season starts. What will you do to compensate for the surge? Read about it on foxnews.com and tell us what you think!

Got parenting tips?

Ahhh....finally back from maternity leave. It's amazing how much time it takes to care for a tiny baby. I spend every minute of my day caring for my son. From bottles to diapers to feeding, there is always something that needs to be done. Sometimes all he needs is to be rocked. I love it! But I'm interested to hear how your newborn changed your life. I know there are many new moms out there. I have about ten friends right now who are pregnant, or recently delivered their baby. What is the biggest change you've had with a baby? What's your secret for making it work? Mine? Get lots of help....even if you just have someone who can run to the store for you, or cook for you, or perhaps taking the child so you can get some sleep. Time goes up in value once you become a parent.

It's Oscar time!

Well, the Oscar nominees have been announced.....
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,324548,00.html
Can't say I've seen a lot of these movies (perhaps because I'm pregnant and sitting in a movie theatre isn't appealing right now).... but it'll give me a chance to watch something good on DVD or PPV. Still, no matter how familiar I am with the movies, just watching the Academy Awards show on TV is always enterntaining with all of it's Hollywood regalness. However this year, things could be alot different with the writer's strike. Some actors say they're not crossing a picket line, which surely will be a large part of the Oscar scenery. Perhaps it will get more people to watch the Oscars this year? What's your take?
