Yes, the rumors are true. In just a matter of days I will no longer be sitting in live trucks trying to turn a story for the  5 and 6 o'clock newscasts. For everything in life there really is a season and like many-a-professional athlete who has also faced the reality of time and age, I had to know when to hang it up. Now is that time.

But, I won't be going far. I'm just headed over to Burlington where the fine folks at the Alamance-Burlington School System have given me a wonderful opportunity to serve them in the capacity of Director of Community Relations. While I will miss the adrenaline rushes of hard news, I am sure the next chapter of life will have its own successes. When we talk about the FOX 8 FAMILY, that's not fake. It truly is a wonderful family which adopted me into the fold seven years ago and I am proud to forever be a part of it.  There've been so many stories, so many amazing people I've met in my time here. So, here's what I want you to do. Keep watching FOX 8. Keep writing in the blogs and sharing your thoughts and ideas. Change is never easy, but I'm only a mouse-click away. And know that I still want to hear from you - only now I'm going to be a lot more focused on telling story after story of the outstanding students and faculty of the Alamance-Burlington School System.

I am 1 of many that will miss you. You are one of a kind. You put your heart and soul into each event or story you covered. Anyone that seen you on TV could tell you loved your work and gave 110% to make sure the job was done right. I do believe Fox8 is a family and I hope the new Owners will work together and keep the ones that are there. I also hope they know what they have lost when you cover your last story and walk out the doors at Fox8 for the last time as a important part of the team work it take to get the news out for us to see and to know about.

I wish you the best on your new job and know in your heart, you did make a difference in peoples lives.

As you know, I've always been concerned about the intensity of dangerous stories you follow and the ramifications of putting your entire family in a news blog. You've certainly stepped down the ladder a few times and this ability and experience will definitely be an asset in your new endeavour. I will expect to see a deadlinediva comment or blog every so often, as they even allow shadowy folks like me to blog.

Wow...Alamance, Gateway to Danger.

I'm sure the Sheriff will have your back, but look out for them dangerous librarians that lurk in the shadows of the card catalog...

Meow.

That aside, "Long May You Run"

You have a very empathetic and tender way of writing about the tragedy in other people’s lives. No matter what situation comes your way with The Alamance System, everyone will benefit from your keen insight into human nature. I have a feeling you will find a way to make your new job fun and exciting. When problems or celebrations arrive Alamance will certainly benefit from your connections!

My husband and I will miss the head bobbing that you always did, while the crew at the station would tell a little something about what you were going to be reporting about. You always did it and it was cute and I couldn't remember your name, just that you bobbed your head in agreement each time you were on the air... it made an impression. Sorry you're leaving, because no one else will entertain us the way you did.
Good luck in the future !

Sad to see you go Caron. It's nice to have a local girl on the news like yourself. You know the territory because you grew up here and it shows. Good luck to you. I actually do most of my errands in Burlington. It's growing like mad over here.
