Wherenberg's babysitting service...!!!

picard_engage.jpg picard beer me image by siriandchris

Remember when the movies was a  place to lose yourself for a couple of hours...... Forget the world even existed and escape from reality by drifting into the silver screen and interacting with the characters in the movie....... Nowadays it seems that you have to be more aware of what's going on in the seats..... Kids that are dropped off and are more interested in disrupting the audience and looking cool in front of their friends by throwing things at other people in the theatre....... Cell phones have found their way in ..... Now we will have to worry about the occasional drunk which might not mix well with the rowdy kids....... I totally understand that the theatres are strapped for cash and this is the sign of the beginning of the end...... I suppose the good old days of escaping reality at the movies are....

Will all that money stay in the U.S......??

big_1039587.jpg Bailout image by poealyce

I really have no problem with the bailout..... My problem is that a lot of these companies with their hands out have moved a lot of their operations overseas or Canada and Mexico....... Half the time when you call customer service you are talking to someone in India...... Chrysler closed the minivan plant here and moved all the minivans to Canada.... Shouldn't Canada kick in and help with the bailout...... My only point  is that if a company wants the U S to help them in a financial struggle, then shouldn't it be stipulated that employment of these companies remain in America.....

Don't we send enough  money overseas already?

It's a party old folks style....!!

BillyPeek-TheAnswerFront-1.jpg Billy Peek - The Answer image by zotyapapa55

Forget the Hip Hop, Disco, Swing, Country, and Modern Rock and what you have left is some good old fashioned Rock N Roll and Blues........ Add in the pristine setting of the Club Villa and a room full of 30 something to 70 something old hippies and you have encountered a Billy Peek night....... Billy has been in the St. Louis area as long as I can remember and never fails to turn a little magic out of his guitar.....Billy has played with Chuck Berry and Rod Stewart and his style of music is a smooth blend of Classic Rock and Blues.....  The dance floor usually fills up in the middle of the first set and stays full until the end of the night.... No idiots,,,,, Just a lot of great folk...... Going out to see old bands is one of my favorite things to do....... It seems that the volume is lower and the music is better..... Next sunday I plan to attend a benefit and see another band that I have not heard of since the late 70's......... It's a band called Mack's Creek........ If I remember right they played a lot of Southern Blues like the Allman Brothers..... I'll be sure to have camera in hand.......

When's the last time you partied "Old Folks Style"?

There are codes for decks and railing....!!

Girl nearly falls over cliff as video camera rolls

http://www.katu.com/news/34335244.html a>

A cute little girl and a fun family outing almost turns deadly because of railing that wouldn't pass any inspection..... Kids have been falling through deck railing often over time..... There are codes and inspections for these reasons...... The rail on the video clip was not only in violation of the maximum gap allowed but also the minimum height.... If there is a way to get through a child will find it..... If an inspector signed off on that railing I sincerely hope he gets his hands slapped.......

Have you ever been told to redo something by an inspector?

Don't agree with all of this but it's interesting....

Funny_Pictures_1901-1.jpg If You Can Read This image by kenchen11

HOW LONG DO WE HAVE?     This is the most interesting thing I've read in a long time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming.   I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is interesting to see it in print. God help us, not that we deserve it. How Long Do We Have? About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the  University  of  Edinburgh  , had this to say about the fall of the  Athenian   Republic  some 2,000 years earlier: 'A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.' 'A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.' '>From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.' 'The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years' 'During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence: 1. from bondage to spiritual faith; 2. from spiritual faith to great courage; 3. from courage to liberty; 4. from liberty to abundance; 5. from abundance to complacency; 6. from complacency to apathy; 7. from apathy to dependence; 8. from dependence back into bondage' Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law,  St. Paul ,   Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000  Presidential election: Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29 Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000 Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1 Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...' Olson believes the  United States  is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase of Professor Tyler's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase. If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal's and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the   USA  in fewer than five years. If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message. If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

busted.jpg Busted image by LoveBoys30

Couldn't help but laugh when I saw the two vandals on camera in the school...... With pictures that clear and the 3500 dollar reward I don't give it a day before they are caught..... With todays world of electronics we are on film more that you might ever imagine..... The best thing that these guys can do is give up and turn themselves in.... Anywhere you turn big brother is watching.......

Is there anywhere you are alone anymore...??

How bad does it have to be....??

pistol.jpg pistol image by porner_cocket

Every morning it seems that the news includes someone getting killed....... This morning is no exception...... A robbery and a murder at a Steak N Shake in what is really a very safe area...... This trend is beginning to concern me..... One has to wonder is it the loss of jobs or is it the Meth epidemic that is creating the spike in the murder rate ?....... The mayor wants us to believe that the city is safe and these are isolated incidents..... Personally I have noticed an alarming rise in all crimes...... Robbery, carjackings, vandalism, assaults and murder.......

Is it poverty, drugs, or both....??

Have you had a strange one lately......??

2859.jpg Dream City image by ulmpiglet

When is the last time that you have interacted with your dream ?...Some call it sleepwalking... Last night the bizarre combination of falling asleep on the couch while watching Harrah's Lucky Break with the dog snoring beneath me took my sub world to the land of the giant rabbits..... Walking down a path going who knows where led me to encounter an unprovoked attack by a large bunny who was charging me at full steam..... My first response was to use these size 14 feet for defense..... The only problem was the swift kick to the misbehaving rabbit also bled over to my coffee table and my dog...I'm still not sure if a toe was broken or not...My coffee table is made out of 2 by 12's and weighs over 100 pounds ....  Wow what could have conjured up this bit of non reality..?  I have to say that it's one dream that I had no trouble remembering.... The dream dictionary has some suggestions...Anybody want to try to explain this one ??

It's a sick feeling that we can all relate to.....!!

FoamyWallet.png ooh i found a wallet!! image by babygirlpebbles

Yesterday was  extraordinary  to say the least....... Traveling to north county for a doctor visit offered the opportunity to mingle with people that live on the opposite side of the city ..... Met a really nice old guy in the waiting room and  waiting room was by far the proper name for this lobby....... After some delightful conversation with the doctor and  given my freedom to go home proceeded me to the bathroom at the end of the empty hall to ready myself for the drive back through rush hour traffic....... Washing my hands  revealed a wallet lying on the sink and it was clearly visible that this wallet was full of money and credit cards....... At a glance several fifty and hundred dollar bills were easily visible.... I 've found money before but never this much....... One could have put this money in his pocket and went on with  business but the thought never even crossed my mind..... Instead I remembered the time losing my keys and the sick feeling  in my belly wondering where they could have gone....... So the wallet went to the receptionist in the doctors office and she opened it and we discovered that it was the old gent that I had been talking to in the waiting room...... She said she would contact him but when  the elevator door opened in the lobby the first person I saw  was this old gent ....... Asking him if he had his wallet created that instant look of panic in his eyes.... Reassuring him that it was safe and nothing was taken led to a handshake from a new friend and the journey home began....... I did get a free steak dinner from my sons Navy recruiter last night.........

What's the last thing you've lost that  made you sick...??

There are so many to  choose from...!!

many-paths-small.jpg art image by pink_ink_2006

Have you ever had a strong emotional reaction of De-ja-vue...?  A bizarre chain of events has  led  me to a place where major changes and decisions in my life were made over thirty years ago.... This being the place where I  decided to grow up and live life as a mature and caring individual now has a sentimental and reflective aura to it ...... Once seeming like a straight and clear path, it now has a lot of detours and distractions weaved into it ....... If not for this path though I probably would have been dead long ago ..... The details of these events are not important .... The most important thing  realized is that I'm still heading in the right direction  ..... Sometimes the only way  to keep pushing forward is to revisit the past .... Life is a learning process.....

Do you know where your path is taking you....??

The south did a lot of things better....!!

SouthernCornbread.jpg Southern Skillet Cornbread image by pelysma

Have you ever tasted cracklin cornbread...?  Have you ever had a good slice of Skillet Cornbread ?.... Today being my day to cook for the Rams game at the Eagles put me in the mood for some good old fashioned southern cooking ........ Made from scratch cooked in a properly seasoned cast iron skillet and complimented with a pot of southern style Ham N Beans and Deer Chili.... It just can't get any better... The sad news is that it all got ate up..... I was really hoping to bring a slice or two home and warm it up for a late night snack topped with butter......  But my  trusty cast iron skillet is seasoned and ready to cook again...... I can remember so many great meals that mom cooked in her cast iron skillet that she still has today..... Fish cakes, potato cakes, fried potatoes and onions. and not to mention all the great tortillas filled with all kinds of country goodies cooked on that skillet......Lamberts in Sikeston could not miss with their menu....Genuine southern cooking......How could they not have made a fortune ?..... And the throwed rolls.....What a gimmick.....

When's the last time you've had southern quisine ?

Would be Rapist.... VS...... Good German Shepard

IMG_5163.jpg German Shepard image by johnnyma1029

Kudo's to the dog that stood up for it's master and took a bite and ran off the would be rapist....... I have and always will have a good dog at my house...... They are loyal and can and will save your life if the need should arise....... Dogs can tell if your up to no good just by smelling you....... The shepard that lives at my house now would go postal if a stranger would even think about hurting a kid in our hood........ People always complain about a dog barking at strangers ....... I actually welcome it........ Barking dogs will keep burglars away............

Have you ever owned a good dog........??

Steamy is the best......!!!!!!

DSC078532.jpg Steamy Hot image by midkiff4

I'm talking about showers.... What were you thinking  ?.....lol...... With the 30 degree morning, I like Rosie celebrated the first official day of cold weather....... Starting my morning with a big cup of steamy hot chocolate...... Breakfast this a.m. consisted of oatmeal made with water boiled on the stove...... A light workout ensued with a nice relaxing soak in the hot tub......... A few chores in the afternoon followed by a steamy hot shower has me as relaxed as a dog sleeping by the fireplace....... There are so many things that are just better  hot......  I love fajitas at the mexican restaurant when they are so hot that they are still frying when served at your table ...... So keep it clean but tell me.........

What do you like best  when it's hot........??
