It happens  every year !  Sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas finds me hooked on sweets with them everywhere lying around free for the taking... Russell Stover is trying to win us back .... And around the same time each year I notice that I am missing a belt notch and have to make the choice of kicking the habit or spending a small fortune on a new clothes..... Well I'm on my third day of eating nothing but healthy stuff and taking meal portions back to normal size with no in between snacks..... Sugar withdrawals are tough and I am miserable ..... Sugar  pulls me like a magnet..... Don't know if it's a mental thing or a physical addiction ..... Dark Chocolate is the strongest weakness...... It's no longer a New Years Resolution, but a matter of necessity... With the old body comes the slow metabolism and the need to cut out the starches...........

As far as I know I will not be spinning music this New Years so I really don't know what I will be doing when the clock strikes Midnight....... I do know that whatever it is I won't be drunk........ I will more likely be the one that will drive somebody home and possibly save a DWI arrest or worst case scenario a loss of life....... I love a cold beer or a tasty mixed drink just like the next guy but In moderation...... On New Years Eve I usually drink soda and one glass of Bubbly at Midnight......... So be sure to include a designated driver if you're on the roads...... Big Brother will be watching for the temps will be mild and they will be out in force....... I'm looking for a cool place to go......... Or I might have a good old fashioned Poker game here..........

Critics called it a virtual chastity belt, primarily of service to insecure males curious to know where their women are. (However, the wearer can manually turn the device off.) Another anti-terror lingerie product may also surface someday, based on a 2007 U.S. patent, issued to a Plainfield, Ill., company for a bra whose cups could also function as air-filtration systems in case of chemical attacks.........

Have you watched an old movie lately......?

It's been a while since watching an old movie..... Hating the wind as much as I do put me indoors today eating Ham n Beans and watching Gary Cooper and Barbara Stanwyck in an old Black n White film called Meet John Doe...... Actually a great movie and would probably make a great remake....... Watching it reminded me that the world has been manipulated by the power of jerks since the beginning of time....... There are so  many great old movies that would be really great remakes...... Sometimes they miss the plot when they remake them but sometimes they get it right in a modern day setting.......

Sometimes it can derail a persons plans....!!!

Have your plans ever been slowed down or changed by a zipper ?....... Have you ever had to shimmy out of a pair of pants because of one being stuck ?..... We have all had them break and then there are the ones that won't stay zipped up...... Kids have the toughest times with their coats and well I suppose that we have all had the incidents where we get literally caught in a zipper while zipping it up........ Ow ...!!!!  Then there are always those that are walking around with their fly open...... Who is going to tell them ?..... I have owned a pair of jeans that buttoned instead of using a zipper........ They are a pain in the begonia...... I guess we will have to live with the flawless zipper....

Say what you want about Charter, but today I was proven that there is no faster internet.... Thinking that I already had the fastest internet is an understatement...... Having a few problems with my net connection led me to talking to a tech on the phone..... We both agreed that it was probably a worn out modem...... But as we talked he informed me tha he could change a couple of things on my account and double the internet speed with no additional monthly charge....... Informing him that I already had the pipeline high speed service, he laughed and informed me that yes I do have that service but there is one faster....... So free is free and after agreeing to the changes a service tech was dispatched and showed up right on time....... After finding a problem in the cable and installing a new bigger and better modem I was set to surf once again......... Oh my goodness....... It takes seconds for the simple stuff....... You Tube videos will download twice as fast as they play...... Even the Fox 2 videos play straight through....... I just couldn't imagine dial up anymore..... Some things are just better if it's faster......

What else in life needs to be speeded up....??

It's a party old folks style....!!

Forget the Hip Hop, Disco, Swing, Country, and Modern Rock and what you have left is some good old fashioned Rock N Roll and Blues........ Add in the pristine setting of the Club Villa and a room full of 30 something to 70 something old hippies and you have encountered a Billy Peek night....... Billy has been in the St. Louis area as long as I can remember and never fails to turn a little magic out of his guitar.....Billy has played with Chuck Berry and Rod Stewart and his style of music is a smooth blend of Classic Rock and Blues.....  The dance floor usually fills up in the middle of the first set and stays full until the end of the night.... No idiots,,,,, Just a lot of great folk...... Going out to see old bands is one of my favorite things to do....... It seems that the volume is lower and the music is better..... Next sunday I plan to attend a benefit and see another band that I have not heard of since the late 70's......... It's a band called Mack's Creek........ If I remember right they played a lot of Southern Blues like the Allman Brothers..... I'll be sure to have camera in hand.......

Have you had a strange one lately......??

When is the last time that you have interacted with your dream ?...Some call it sleepwalking... Last night the bizarre combination of falling asleep on the couch while watching Harrah's Lucky Break with the dog snoring beneath me took my sub world to the land of the giant rabbits..... Walking down a path going who knows where led me to encounter an unprovoked attack by a large bunny who was charging me at full steam..... My first response was to use these size 14 feet for defense..... The only problem was the swift kick to the misbehaving rabbit also bled over to my coffee table and my dog...I'm still not sure if a toe was broken or not...My coffee table is made out of 2 by 12's and weighs over 100 pounds ....  Wow what could have conjured up this bit of non reality..?  I have to say that it's one dream that I had no trouble remembering.... The dream dictionary has some suggestions...Anybody want to try to explain this one ??
