Awards shows almost have no meaning any more!

For years, we had the big FOUR. The Oscars, the Emmys, the Grammys, and the Tonys. NOW, there are so many, that you don't really feel like the best of the best are awarded anymore. You have MTV awards, VH1 Awards, TV Land, Cable Ace, the Gospel Awards, as well as Awards for: Commercials, Stuntmen, People's Choice, Hip Hop, American Music, Golden Globes, Latin performers, African American performers, Nickelodian, Kid's shows, etc....

Where will it end? Next we will be giving out Awards for the best AWARDS SHOW!!

Don't get me wrong, I think those who display exceptional talents, SHOULD be awarded, but my goodness,  if there are more and more awards being developed all the time, we lose the whole point of giving out awards!

It just seems now, that there is an award for anything and everything, and to me, the prestige of it feels diminished. Any one else feel the same way??

Totally agree with you, mrshubbyd. I don't watch awards shows anymore because they are so boring. On top of that, a lot of award recipients (ab)use their acceptance speeches as an opportunity to spout off their political agendas. This just further displays their self-centeredness. Just because I like an artist's music or an actor's talent does not mean that I automatically agree with them politically, and I don't appreciate them assuming every one of their fans feels as they do. That's one of the main reasons I don't watch awards shows anymore.

Oh my God they have become as annoying as Reality TV. You want an award show great just don't show it on TV there are much more important things going on then whos wearing what

I'm good honey, just got so much going on. Now my daughter, son-in-law, and the baby are with us full time, and it's very harried around here. I rarely get a chance to even eat a meal without some sort of interruption nowadays, and the boards sometimes keep me up all night.

My health isn't the best either right now, and until I can get some insurance, or money, I have to take it easy, and rest. You are such a doll for checking on me. It is so sweet of you to do so. I am also starting my new job this week. As a matter of fact, I am on my way there right now, because we are putting the bar together, and doing some pre-grand=opening stuff. When we have our "mock" opening, they said we can invite friends and family, so I'll let you know, and you can come out if you like! Thanks again buddy, gotta run! XOXOXOXO
