 Coffee filters have more uses than just to filter coffee!  And the best part is they are very inexpensive!
 
1. Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the
 microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers.

2. Clean windows and mirrors. Coffee filters are
 lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.

3. Protect China. Separate your good dishes by
 putting a coffee filter between each dish.

4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter.  

5.  Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.  

6.  Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.  

7.  Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.  

8.  Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale.   

9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.  

10.  Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.  

11.  Prevent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.  

12.  Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters.  

13.  Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc on them. Soaks out all the grease.  

14.  Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick fixers."

Nashville cops say Mindy McCready has attempted suicide and is in the hospital following the incident.

According to a police report, McCready's brother discovered the singer had sliced her wrists and taken pills on Wednesday. The brother told cops Mindy was "very intoxicated" after a night out.

We've learned she tore through tendons in her wrist, and that she's had surgery to repair that particular injury. She's in stable condition.

She left jail in October after 30 days for a probation violation, and she's attempted suicide before.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. — A mixed martial arts fighter and his wife were found shot to death in a Laguna Niguel condominium in what authorities said was an apparent murder-suicide.

The bodies of Justin Levens and his wife, Sarah McLean-Levens, were found Wednesday afternoon, Orange County sheriff's officials said. The 28-year-old Levens competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and other organizations.

Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said the couple was found by the woman's mother, who called 911.

"Rock of Love: Charm School" contestant Megan Hauserman says Sharon Osbourne attacked her.

Los Angeles police are investigating Sharon Osbourne for minor battery after Megan Hauserman's claims that Ozzy's wife attacked her during a taping of their reality show, "Rock of Love: Charm School."

Hauserman, known on the show for her svelte figure and sharp tongue, alleges that Osbourne flipped out, running across the stage and attacking her.

Osbourne, who hosts the VH1 etiquette competition, apparently yanked Hauserman's hair and scratched at her until security separated them, TMZ.com reports. Hauserman went to the hospital, but so far no charges have been filed.

The catfight reportedly started after Osbourne made a snide remark to the bikini model, who responded by telling Osbourne that she's only famous for "managing a brain-dead rock star."

But the bad blood began long before the reunion episode. After Hauserman was booted off the show, losing out on a chance to win $100,000, Osborne didn't have kind things to say about the ditzy blonde.

"She does have a pretty damn good body, but no f---ing brain. Her brain is between her legs," Osbourne said.
