I have often written on this site that blind hatred towards all muslims is both wrong and dangerous.   Unfortunately, today this was proved here at home in Kansas City.    A young man entered a convenient store in Lenexa, asked the clerk if he was "Muslim or Christian".   When the clerk replied "Muslim", the man walked out & threw a brick through the window.    He also threw a moltov cocktail through the broken window, which thankfully did not ignite.

There are many who blog here often about hating all muslims, how all muslims are killers and all muslims want to kill Americans.   Some people have even advocated killing all muslims and obviously this young man took your rhetoric seriously!   So here are some questions for those of you who advocate hatred against muslims.

How do you justify his actions?

Do you bear any responsibility for his actions because you have created a climate of hate & fear towards all Muslims?

How does a moltov cocktail thrown in Kansas City differ from a moltov cocktail thrown in Gaza or Bagdad?

If that cocktail had ignited & killed the muslim clerk, do you think he has family that would mourn his death?

What if your child had been standing in line in that store?

The exact same thing happened right after 9/11. Indiscriminate killings against people wearing Turbans by "Americans." (Yahoo main page, keyword: 9/11 Muslim revenge killings).

It really shouldn't be a big revelation in this country. White Americans have a long history of perpetrating "hate" crimes--if there is such a thing. Racism is alive and well. African-Americans for years have been the victims.

Freedom of Religion, separation of Church and State, Justice for all and all the other B.S. that's written down. (Japanese internment camps during WWII) A better response by the clerk would have been on the vague side like, "what does it matter, there is freedom of Religion in this country, right?" It might have provoked some thought by the questioner but chances are his mind was made up based on looks.

Wonder if the clerk stands up at ball games for the flag thing and justice for all and home of the free and the Chiefs thing?

Nemokc, I don’t know what you’re reading or where you’re reading it, but I’ve been on this blog since its inception and read it almost everyday. I have never seen a posting that advocates the “killing of all Muslims.” There have been some heated debates, but this is not, and never has been a hate-based blog site. If it were, and if there was a prevailing hate movement against Muslims, as you suggest, I would think that there would be far more hate crimes directed at Muslims than the single incident you’ve described. You are making gross generalizations that have no basis in fact. I would say that this offender’s hate for Muslims, if that is in fact what the motivating fact is, came from a source other than this blog.

Read Diesel blog, that's hate. I just can't hate like that. I can't. What I hate is the sin; the way people hate w/o blinking an eye. Not all Muslims are responsible for 9/11.

Yea.. I'm hate.. yep..sure am! lol (rolling eyes).. Just let me put this bomb vest on my 2 year old so she can go do some kill'n in the name of Allah..

I know all Muslims are not born killers, but I still believe that they need to get this islam religion in check themselves. Not much we can do about it cept bury our own.

Diesel:

Is it possible that the kid who did this in KC was influenced by listening to someone like you?

Do you really think the specific clerks attacked at these two stores spend all thier time designing bomb vests for thier children?

Jordan:

In light of Diesel's comments, do you want to rethink your statement?

I wouldn't justify his actions.

I do not hate nor do I have fear towards Muslims....I just don't trust any of them.

I am not advocating killing or hating. But how interesting that I got this in my email right before I read this blog.

A German's View on Islam

Dr. Emanual Tanay is a well known and well respected psychiatrist.

A German's point of view on Islam.

A man whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War ll owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything, I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.'

We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion of peace, and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectra of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam. The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history.

It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa an

It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor killing. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. The hard quantifiable fact is that the 'peaceful majority,' the 'silent majority,' is crowded extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War ll was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across Southeast Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.

And, who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were 'peace loving'?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't spe

Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.

Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghanis, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.

As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts; the fanatics who threaten our way of life.

Lastly, at the risk of offending, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand.

SickandTiredofIdiots:

That is an excellent post. And it references a point that I make often to my Islamic friends...Muslims have to speak out against the violence. (Note: If you check out this week's issue of Newsweek, you will find an article concerning that very issue.)

I don't think that the fact the "vast majority of muslims want to live in peace is irrelevant" but the writer made some excellent points.

I would also like to suggest that it is a warning to us as Americans as well as to Muslims. One of the signs of the the coming troubles for Jews in Germany was the destruction of shops owned by Jews (often by fire bombing). I'm not comparing America to Nazi Germany, but I am saying that I think real Americans need to speak out against violent acts committed against Muslims. I do not think it improves the situation to make inflamatory statements like "nuke the mideast and stuff pork up thier ..."

And I would not want my beliefs to be made irrelevant by my silence.

Never said or wrote ALL white people were racist.

When you start with the faulty premise, "I wish you would stop saying...." whatever you are referring to should be verbatim of what I was saying, not your conclusion of what you erroneously thought I was saying.

Again, I still don't see where I wrote, "All white people are racist," as you suggest.

Ok so I miswrote about that but I noticed you didn't comment back about black people being just as racist as any white person. Could that be because you know it is true?

Try googling under news, key words: kansas city star muslim clerk vandalized
