In his announcement this morning, Dale Jr. made it clear, it's not about the money, he just wants to be some where that he is appreciated. He and Kelly, were both careful not to blast Teresa, but one reporter may have hit the nail on the head. Has DEI become TEI? And the recent talks with Robert Yates Racing, an avowed Ford team, about merging with DEI, was this a subtle backhand to Jr, who's long association with Chevy, and his desire to stay with them is well known? In any case, my hope is that Dale Jr signs with one of the big three Chevy teams, and goes on to win many championships. As for what happens to DEI, I don't really care, it's all yours Teresa, run it into the ground, that's what you seem to want to do. It's my guess Teresa, won't be at the tracks much, because all those fans in red shirts and caps, might not take to kindly to the woman who ran "the Intimidater's" son out of DEI.  As has been said before , 49% of something, is better than 100% of nothing, and right now that looks like what Teresa has. I might also add, that as a stepson myself, Teresa has made the Stepmother's Hall of Fame, and given good stepmothers another mountain to climb.             So, here's to Dale Jr, and Kelly, God bless you both, and I look forward to cheering you on no matter where you may land.            The movie "DALE" was in Greensboro, Friday night, watching that made it clear how Dale Sr, felt about this, maybe Teresa should watch  it again!

Lord help us, if she turns DEI into a Ford team! Dale, Sr. will turn over in his grave! It's really a shame what this family feud has done, but I'm very proud of Dale,Jr. and Kellie, and I'm sure they'll come out on the winning end. But I still have a problem with this: why is Kerry being shunned, after all, he is Dale,Sr.'s son, too?

Why not a Toyota team? If in fact the world considers the US to be imperealists, what better way to show we ain't?

Now for the rest of the story...
Of course, with my husband being at the center of RCR, there's a lot I can't say. But I am safe in saying, Yes, Junior and Kelley have seriously considered looking at having their own JR Cup team. But it would be a lot of work... and time. Junior is 32. He needs to be in a championship team NOW. Not 3 years from now. I believe he and Kelley can create a great Cup team in time, but it will take time and money. But where he SHOULD be, in my opinion, is RCR - not because of my ties to the team, but it makes the most sense. NASCAR has limited team owners to four Cup teams next year. Childress currently has 3 fielded each week. A fourth with a strong driver is what he needs. Junior needs a father-figure (Childress), solid equipment with the chance to win a championship in 2008 WITHOUT the stress of being a driver/owner. (As Michael Waltrip or Darrell Waltrip or Ricky Rudd about being a driver/owner.) It's impossible to race hard and put it all out on the track on Sunday when you're worried about paying the bills on Monday. It's un-necessary stress. He just needs a good ride and Childress would be the best fit. Then there are the sponsors - Gibbs doesn't want a liquor or beer sponsor. So forget about Budweiser with Gibbs. Hendrick already has a full stable of very talented drivers. He could have a "satellite" team under Haas or some other owner, but it wouldn't be the complete package that he needs. I told Junior last night that Chocolate and I were really proud of him and supported whatever decision he made... but he has a home at RCR

Married,1968 to present, 2 sons, 6 grandchildren, retired after 40 yrs at the same company. A veteran of the U.S.Army in the mid sixties, and conservative politically. I am concerned about what is lacking in the education our children are receiving in school. When I talk to my grandkids about history or geography, it is totally new to them.
