Recently, the ACLU, has been in the local news, that of course stands for American Civil Liberties Union. A more apt name would be the Busybodies 0f America, for they can't keep their noses out of everyone elses business. We must not pray to individual dieties at government meetings, they say, but what they really mean is not to pray to Jesus Christ. This nation was founded on religious principles, and if we continue to deny them, we may not be around much longer, as a nation. It's time to send the ACLU packing, they  are just a bunch of left wing lawyers, who have a lot of time and money, and want to push this nation around. They think they can hold us hostage in the courts, and impose their will on us. It is time for our leaders to stand up to them, and for us to support those leaders who do. Let your city council, and county comissioners know how you feel on this. Encourage our judges to throw out these cases, with the Supreme Court we have now, the ACLU might not want to go before them. But most of all, continue to pray to God, Jesus, Allah, or whomever you worship. in this country, you have that right.

I still haven't heard any "complaints" about MONEY, which has "In God We Trust" on it. I'm really surprised, since so many public places have had that banned, public prayer is being banned, and anything to do with God (of whatever religion) is not allowed to spoken of. Actually, I've waited several years to hear a complaint about this phrase being on our money, but so far I haven't heard one. Amazing, isn't it?

SARQ there have been many cases of complaints about "IN GOD WE TRUST" being on money in fact a man went to jail for defacing paper money by scratching out in god we trust. The reason why the push has settled down they are moving us to plastic money credit and debit cards and automatic drafts so there is no need for them to complain!

Okay, thanks for the info, Axe. I personally, haven't heard of the man "defacing paper money", but I am not as "on top of the news" as I should be. Again, thanks!

Oldsoldier said "They think they can hold us hostage in the courts." I believe they may have us now. Prayer alone will not fix anything.

I see it this way...God will take care of them in time...cause he said "If you deny me...I will deny you infront of my father" So I'm sure they will get what is coming to them sooner or later

Well, they can stop "public prayer" or "moments of silence" but they cannot stop what we do in our own minds (if we choose to say a prayer). I guess that is next on the list!

You are exactly right seaangel, they can't stop us from praying silently, all though, they probably will try!

I think it's sad that we let people like the ACLU tell us who we can pray to in public. I thought that's why we live in America! It seems like to me that us Americans are loosing are rights to something everyday. I agree that we should stand up & let then know we are not going to put up with people taking our rights away!Especially this right! We should be able to pray to God whenever we want! Whether it's in public or not! After all, if it wasn't for HIM, we would NOT be here today or have what we have today! If I have offeded anyone, I'm sorry. I know other people have different people they worship! You should have a right to pray to whomever you wish too! It really upset me when they took prayer out of school! I think that that should be a parents decision not a schools! What are we teaching our kids? I mean what's it going to hurt for our kids to have prayer before they start school? Are they afraid that the kids might actually do better in school? It's time we start standing up for what's right!

I was at the Beach last weekend and on the way back to our hotel we walked passed a corner and two men in suits in 90 degree weather with bibles in their hands were preaching on the street corner so obviously the ACLU has not stopped prayer in public but I will say this I didn't want to hear that and it was a violation of my peace and relaxation on my vacation. If I want preaching and prayer I will go to church I found it offensive.

AXEKICK FOUND IT TO BE OFFENSIVE TO HEAR MEN PREACHING WHILE HE WAS ON VACATION AND IM REALLY HAPPY THAT HE FEELS THAT WAY. BUT THE SAME RIGHTS THAT GIVE THEM THE RIGHT TO PREACH IN PUBLIC GAVE AXEKICK THE RIGHT TO STATE THAT HE WAS OFFENDED ON THIS SIGHT, IT'S CALLED THE FREEDOM OF SPEECH , AND THE RIGHT TO PURSUE HAPPINESS. FOR THAT I APPLAULD ANYONE THAT WILL STAND UP AND SPEAK THERE RED BLOODED AMERICAN MIND , OH YES , GOD BLESS AMERICA

This is a blog and the editors of this blog and the author of a blog if they see fit can remove posts so there is no freedom here. Now I could have got in his face and disputed all the "BS" he was talking about now that would be freedom of speech but I was on vacation and it was not worth my time. Had they been in say the hallway of my hotel I would have put a stop to it!

But, Axe, that is what Freedom of Speech is supposed to be. If you didn't want to hear what these men were saying, then just walk on by them (you don't HAVE to listen), or cross the street (although I don't believe that you should have to do that, because then it is infringing on YOUR rights). But you are right, there really is NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH anymore. It (and other rights) keep getting "yanked away from us" everyday.

SARQ my family and I had to suffer until the light changed so we could cross the street my daugthers commented on how they looked like robots no emotion not even a nod or smile like a doll where you pull the string to make it talk.

Axekick, sorry to hear they messed up your vacation, would you rather hear someone shouting profanity? Street preachers used to be common, even in Greensboro, they never bothered me, they were only doing what they were moved to do. If you don't like what they have to say, just keep walking, but if they are preaching the Word, it won't hurt you, I promise you.

I think that that is really neat that people will stand out and preach and let other people know how they believe! I'm with SARQ, if it bothered you that much just walk away with your family or choose not to listen! I have seen alot worse I would rather not see or my kids to see out in public than someone who is telling other people about their beliefs!(AT least they had all their clothes on!) I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way!

That is most definitely the truth MLKs, I get really sick of the "scantily dressed" women and men on television during hours that is supposed to be alright for children to watch. That's why I LOVE the beach that I go to, because it is family oriented, and I do not have to worry about "thongs" and less. Now, that would offend me!
