I watched the Grammy Awards last night on that other network, and was appalled that most everyone there was fawning over Amy Winehouse. I must admit I had never heard her sing, if that's what you call it, my only knowledge of her was about her travel restrictions that have beem reported on page A2 of our daily newspaper. She can't sing, can't dance, and can't act, as shown by her supposed shock at winning. Her performance of a song bragging about refusing rehab for her addictions, was a disgrace, and in no way deserves any kind of honor. This woman could not make the reject clips of American Idol. And of course we had  crybaby supreme, Kanye West. Look man, a lot of us have lost our mothers, but we cherish our memories and go on. We don't do the Johnny Fairplay routine at every awards show, trying to win awards on sympathy, but of course that's the only thing he has going for him. Then there was the Foo Fighters, a pretty talented group as it turns out, but come on guys, rent a suit for one night, and park your chewing gum before you go on stage. Of course the show did have it's moments, Tina Turner and Beyonce were great, Carrie Underwood was fabulous with that angelic face and devilish outfit. And last but not least there was the duet of Andrea Boccelli and Josh Grobin, excellent, we could use more of these entertainers, and a lot less of those self absorbed druggies and whinners. That's all I have to say about that, bye now.

Amen! I have never understood why in the world the Grammy Awards judges would allow a crackhead to be issued any type of award! She does not deserve to be honored in any way whatsoever. All that does is show our children that you can be a crackhead and still be honored...how wrong is that? (If this was a sporting event...she would have been banned from every radio station and her contract would be voided) When she admittedly said she was an addict, she should have been stripped of her nominations. I am sure the other nominees were extremely upset over the fact that a crackhead won instead of them. Shame on them.
Also, I will not comment on Kenya West and the loss of his mother...other than I am sorry that he lost her in such an unexpected way. But on the other hand...he has whined and bitched about not winning every single award he was nominated for the last 5-6 years .. blaming it on his race. Come on! He complained that MTV purposely denied him awards over white people. For some reason...that man thinks that he is the best at every single thing he does in music. He doesn't care that others work as hard as he did and may have deserved it more. He feels that the world is obligated to give him every award there is for every move he makes. That alone has made me purposely turn his music when he sings. I will never purchase another CD of his...nor will I ever look at him in the same light as before.

And, you expected more from Mr. WEST? I know how he feels. Everytime something does not go right for me, I blame the black man/woman/child. It's easier that way cause I am never wrong.

Hi, Ladyred2007, apparently you and I aren't smart enough to know real talent when we see or hear it, so the good folks at the Grammy Palace try to stuff this crap down our throats. They sprinkle a little country music and some classic (oldies to you and I), and some good stuff like the Bocelli, Grobin duet, to lure us in, and then hit us over the head with with Amy and Kanye. Sounds like a terrorist plot to me. Oh yeah, I wonder how many people at the show knew what a tick was before Brad Paisley did his number? Bye now

I watched the Grammy's with my 13 year old daughter. I like all kinds of music old and new (I mainly watch to see the performances anyway) and try to be open, but I have to agree Amy Winehouse was terrible and it too bothered me that they were celebrating her work when she is a known drug abuser. I heard some people say, in her defense, it was about honoring her work along with other winners and not their personal lives. I still thought it was in really bad taste. I felt better when my daughter said, "She's (Amy Winehouse)such a loser and does not deserved all this attention."

Don't pick on the Foo Fighters too much because some of the country artists were there in jeans and T's and there are always women there who need to put on some more clothes!

I feel bad for Kenye West because he seems to only be comforted by displaying his acts of mourning and getting attention and sympathy for it. I know it sounds unkind, but we have all (or most) have lost people that meant the world to us, but we should find positive ways to celebrate that person's life and legacy instead of seaking other's sympathy.
