The Obama Image: Living a lie

First let me acknowledge that the title for this is not my own. It is from the Greensboro News & Record, Wednesday, April 16, 2008, page A13. In the middle of the page is a column by Mr Thomas Sowell, that is most interesting, and should  be read by everyone who plans to vote in November. Mr Sowell reveals that Obama is the farthest left of anyone in the Senate, and has shown no inclination to work toward bipartisan legislation,  a key point on getting things passed. He has also not sponsored any significant legislation. Mr Sowell goes on to state that Obama , in the left wing tradition is for the woking class only in the abstract, or as people potentially useful for the purposes of the left, but having disdain or contempt for them as human beings. I would hope that anyone who sees this blog will take the time to read the entire column, and while there, please take note of the photo of Mr Sowell.

Hey, soldier.....I couldn't pull up the A13 page, but it sounds like Mr. Sowell doesn't at all love Obama.....Yes, I saw the photo of Mr. Sowell, but I don't understand why that was a requisite, unless the point was that even another black man didn't like him.....

Most of my friends (black) simply don't trust him, either, because of his age and lack of public office experience.....Most of them (probably our age group) are planning to vote for McCain, which surprises me.....

I think we're ready for a black president, and a woman president, but I just don't think it should be either of these 2 myself.....

Or maybe everybody is just disgusted with all the in-fighting between Billary and Obama, they're just going Republican.....

I find it interesting that everyone is citing lack of experience at the federal level as a major issue in this campaign. Our current president was only a governor with no national political experience, and...never mind, I see your point.

I haven't read the News & Record article but I read the following in the Wall Street Journal yesterday:

It also talks about Obama's liberal voting record. Since reading it I have been further researching his stance or past voting record on partial birth abortions, repeal of Bill Clinton's Defense of Marriage Act, handguns, early release of sex offenders and the meaning of Illinois "present" vote.

I STILL CAN'T GET OVER THE PIC OF OBAMA STANDING AT SOME RALLY OR OTHER, WHILE THE NATIONAL ANTHYM WAS BEING PLAYED/SUNG & HE DID NOT HAVE HIS HAND OVER HIS HEART OR WASNT EVEN LOOKING AT THE FLAG..........OUT COMMANDER IN CHIEF......I THINK NOT......... HILLBILLY IS A LYING WITCH WITH AN OBSESSION OF BEING THE FIRST WHITE WOMAN PRESIDENT.........HERE IS A THOUGHT WHY NOT ALL AMERICANS WRITE IN CONDESLESA RICES NAME.....SHE WOULD MAKE A TERRIFIC PRESIDENT......THAT WAY EVERONE GETS WHAT THEY WANT AN ELECTED WOMAN WHO IS ALSO OF THE "OTHER" RACE.............MMMMMMMMMMM.

I've long been a fan of Mr. Sowell. He is a highly intellegent, and much admired champion of conservative values.

I read his columns regularly, and have YET to find an issue I disagree with him on.

KOOL-AID……..From the kitchen of the obama sheeple!! take one heaping spoonful of an inexperienced elitist white male seeking self validation through exploitation of his african-american genetics. Combine two parts black liberation theology clerics spewing intolerance! With two parts of unrepentant intellectuals committed to the destruction of America. Stir in one cup of militant black wife harboring the overwhelming desire to stick it to whitey and one spoonful of typical white person grandmother mix well. Pour a gallon of anti-patriotism into tall glasses and sprinkle with naïve foreign policy ideations. Serve on a platter of meaningless oratorical hyperbole with a generous dollop of wealth re-distribution. Sprinkle liberally with zest of white guilt flip it and flop it till it tastes right. Serve large portions to the undiscerning and spellbound masses convinced that the Second Coming is upon America and now you have a complete recipe for disaster!

Married,1968 to present, 2 sons, 6 grandchildren, retired after 40 yrs at the same company. A veteran of the U.S.Army in the mid sixties, and conservative politically. I am concerned about what is lacking in the education our children are receiving in school. When I talk to my grandkids about history or geography, it is totally new to them.
