Barack Obama seems to think he's already elected when he says he doesn't look like all those other presidents on U.S. currency, my, he is pesumptuous. And he is proabortion, though he admits there are some moral questions about it. When it comes to morals, you either have them, or you don't, no question about it. Nuclear arms in the hands of terrorist are a threat, but not as big a threat as conventional arms. For the most part we know where  the nukes are, but what about all those guns and grenades floating around on the blackmarket, not to mention homemade explosive devices. Safeguarding our borders against this kind of threat should be on his agenda, but I haven't heard him address that. And having a military force that is both feared and respected should also be on his list of important things. If we walk away from Iraq because things get tough, what kind of message does that send the terrorists? Using Iraq as a photo-op would not have been possible without The Surge that he was against, but he won't admit it. And friends in Iraq tell me he snubbed the soldiers on duty there, but the press onlly had their cameras on him when he wanted them to.  I have serious doubts about Obama, and I hope the voters look beyond the adoring reports the liberal media keeps shoving at us.

presumptuous is the new word for "uppity" - hadn't you heard?

In any case, I think its great to discuss concerns we have regarding all candidates this year.

Some of main concerns I have with Senator McCain I will post in a separate blog.

Well, if your opponent ran an ad comparing you to Brittany Spears and Paris Hilton, wouldn't you assume he's grasping at straws? Presumptuous, maybe. But McCain hasn't done anything to help himself. When Kathy Hilton, a MAJOR contributor to your campaign, states that your ad is "a waste of time and money," how could you interpret it as anything BUT political suicide? And then, when asked about the ad at a town hall type rally, you come out and say you are PROUD of it??? I don't think it's presumptuous on Obama's part at all--when your opponent cuts his own throat like that, it's not far-fetched to think he'll bleed to death.

Hey there, mayberry!.....I'm planning on voting for McJohn, but he's starting to disappoint me by approving some of these recent ads....I thought a little more of him, but I think it's going to get pretty nasty on both sides before it's over - that's no excuse, these are supposed to be reasonable, mature MEN vying for the Presidency of the United States, not 2 little high school girls competing for Prom Queen...

And Welcome back, Dwilli!

I tend to agree with you, DW. The state of American politics does more closely a race for prom king/queen than president of one of the most powerful nations on the face of the earth. But, when you have more people voting for American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance, I guess we get the govt. we deserve. Makes me wanna go fishin and forget the whole mess...

I didn't like the ad either. I get the point (Obama is all bling and no substance) but I cringe at "cutesy" commercials. Republicans tend to think they can win elections by being clever. If they'd just run on the stark differences between candidates, they'd fare much better.

I watched Lauch Faircloth "cutesy" himself into a loss to John Edwards. I was calling the NCGOP and writing them asking them to start running a serious campaign.

I'm not a McCain fan, but he's not running for prom king, his goal is get everybody to not think "President" but rather "Commander in Chief." If people see the election that way, he's obviously the more experienced of the two.

He is the more experienced of the two which speaks volumes to me with all his experience of 26 years he still wants to stay the course we have been on for the last eight years. I have had enough of the lie!

Hey Axekick, don't you think Obama can't lie? He's a politician isn't he?

The lies I am referring to are.
1. Cutting taxes while increasing spending and borrowing money from other countries to hide it.
2. Taking the tax payers money at the tune of 12 billion a month to protect Iraq while the Iraqis brag about their surplus of money.
3. The lie that by not regulating industry and letting them do as they please that they will have a conscience and share the wealth and create an environment conducive to the well being of the American economy.
Everyone will tell a lie politician or regular citizen but my question is this will you volunteer a lie?

You are correct a lie is a lie and everyone has told one and will tell one even you OLDG so don't be so hard on yourself. Some lies have more power than others! WMD's one of the most powerful lies ever.

I agree with you Axe, but all this "change" with very little substance isn't far behind.

he hasnt lied. he has told us straight that he will raise our taxes.he has said he will do nothing to secure the border against illegals coming into this country.and he will not drill for oil to help ease the dependency on foreign oil and he is also against nuclear energy. his bright idea is to just inflate your tires and you will see gas just flowing into your tank.
