I had the pleasure to see NC State Women's Basketball Coach Kay Yow receive the "Jimmy V ESPY Award for Perserverance" this past week.  This woman is the "essence" of all that a young woman should strive to be.  Of course, she is an outstanding coach, but the example that she has shown and is showing goes beyond expectations.  This is what the so-called "Pros" in athletics should try to achieve.  You cannot help but to look up to this wonderful human being that does more for others than herself.  I wish they could make "a mold" of Kay Yow, so that there would be much more women like her!  The world is a better place because of women like her!

She is a class act. It also makes me proud that she is from around here. Her hometown is Gibsonville.

I just wish I had a "fraction" of her fortitude and grace. NC got a "special gift" when she was born here and stayed here to "grace us with her presence".

Hi, I'm a 46 yr. old mother of 4, widowed since 1995, so most of my children are grown. I have a fiance of 6 yrs., lots of grandchildren, 1 boy and 3 girls, plus 1 grand-pug. I LOVE the ocean (esp. Atlantic Beach, NC..God's country). I am an avid if not crazy Carolina Panthers fan and live to see football season so I can see them play. I'm a currently disabled Registered Nurse although I plan to go back to work when I am well. I love music (Go Chris Daughtry) from Counting Crows to Carrie Underwood, Trace Adkins, etc. (very flexible). You kind of have to be with teens in the house. Fox 8 seems like a second family to me esp. Brad and Cindy, since I lived in Danville, VA at one time. So I hope any responses I have are informative and hold your interest. I'm also an animal lover of all kinds.
