I brought this to remind us this Season about these amazing friends...................................

I rescued a human today. Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them. As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life. She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.   I rescued a human today.

With Heavy heart and scared breath , after drying the many tears over the outcome of this election, I am going to move straight on to Thanksgiving.
I have a A brand new Grandson that was born on the 28th Of October he is so very beautiful. I will posting pictures of course, and this is my time of year for the cooking marathon. I love it I have to say. My Daughters have tormented me for years about writing a book of my recipes, from my mother, grandmother, and ours. So guess what? I have started it. YeaH, getting it finished is another matter .But I am starting with Thanksgiving and entering all the recipes for 3 generations with collaborting relatives. Right through the new Year, so I will be very busy. But it is a labor of love that I have put off long enough so wish me Luck and I will keep you informed. I love all of you, and thanks for all the comments . Fingers crossed about Barrack Hussien Obama  Oh Lord. ..........Z

'Twas the night before elections

   'Twas the night before elections
   and all through the town
   Tempers were flaring
   Emotions all up and down!

   I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
   Had cut off the TV
   Tired of political crap.

   When all of a sudden
   There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
   Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
   They wanted my pay
   To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

   He snatched up my money
   And quick as a wink
   Jumped back on his bandwagon
*As I gagged from the stink*

   He then rallied his henchmen
   Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
   To tear my country apart!

   ' On Fannie, on Freddie,
   On Biden and Ayers!
   On Acorn, On Pelosi'
   He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn't stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
   On this one final note-
   IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM
   GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

She is the mother of 5, a reformer, a take no prisoners when comes to big OIl companies and Good ole Boys Politics, she beleives in a earn your way, Work for what you get. She has a son in Iraq and a small baby in her arms. She started her big Political career in the PTA. She never wanted to be in Politics, she was handed the challenges by people who were afraid to stand up and voice their opinions, for fear of consequences. She is not afraid to stand up to powerful leaders , or companies  and she has made all the difference. She gotten laws changed that people said would never happen.  Personally I have never been so excited about another candidate. Hope you will check her out God Bless you Zona

My Friends,

I am honored to announce that I have chosen Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska as my choice for the Republican nominee for Vice President. As a father with three daughters, I can't express how proud I am to choose the first female Republican Vice-Presidential nominee.

Sarah Palin is a trailblazer and a reformer. As the first female governor of Alaska, she challenged a corrupt system and has been a tireless advocate for reform - passing a landmark bill on ethics reform. She has taken on the old politics in Alaska and reformed the state's energy industry. She rejects wasteful pork barrel spending. She's fearless - exactly the type of leader I want at my side and the type of leadership we will bring to Washington.

My friends, together Sarah Palin and I make the strongest presidential ticket and I know that she joins me in asking for your support as we head into our Convention week in Minnesota. We're shaking things up in this campaign - and Governor Palin and I are ready to bring real reform to Washington.

The polls indicate this will be a tight race as we head into the fall campaign against Senators Obama and Biden. I expect the polls to remain close all the way up to Election Day and that is why any help you can give today will go a long way to make history on November 4th.

You may already know that I have decided to accept federal matching funds for the final months of this campaign- keeping a campaign promise I made. But that means that August 31st marks the last day I can accept your primary contribution. Will you make an immediate donation of whatever you can give- whether it's $50 or $500 to ensure Governor Palin and I win in November?

You can be assured that as President and Vice President, Governor Palin and I will always put country before all else. We are ready to lead and I ask that you join our campaign today. Your support is deeply appreciated.

Sincerely,

Blog Entry A Love Story... Apr 9, '08 8:22 AM
for everyone A Love Story..... Can you believe it! Not that long ago my life was a mess. I've suffered with mild depression all of my life. In October of 05,the girl I thought I was in love with, broke my heart. I was devastated. Once again, something bad had happened to me within just a couple of days from my birthday. This seemed to be a trend. My little brother died a week after my 7th birthday. My dad had a stroke on my 27th birthday. My first wife told me she wanted to have an affair on my 33rd birthday. I've had a two other girlfriends that broke up with me on other birthdays. I continued to go to Mass each week, but I felt lost. I prayed for God to help me through this, but always felt like God had turned his back on me. I was utterly and completely lost! I stopped singing in the choir because it felt like a lie to sing God's praises knowing He could care less about me. I stopped taking communion, because I could see the smirk on the face of Jesus as I looked to the altar. I never gave up though, even though I swear to this day that for just a while,God gave up on me. It was the Christmas Eve Midnight Mass (before Mass begins the choir sings for 30 minutes),and as the choir was singing "O Holy Night", I felt it. Whatever had been blocking me from God was gone and I was once again filled with His Holy Spirit. I left Mass that night feeling like everything would be alright. Fast forward to March 6th 2006. I just bought a computer, never having one before. Maybe there is something to be said for my best friend's advice. He's seen the heartaches I've endured by meeting women at bars, and suggested on-line dating. Hmm...OK I'll give it a shot. I put myself out in the "big cyber world" on a couple of dating sites. plentyofish, was one of them. Just like on 360 now,I was myself. I was honest. Just as soon as my profile went through, the computer sent me some matches. One woman, with the most beautiful blue eyes I've ever seen, had a profile that could have been written by me. We sounded so much alike it was a little scary. I'll keep her to my favorites and just watch her, since I'm too shy to email her. Two days later (4th day ever on-line) Oh My God! That girl with the blue eyes has sent me an email! We emailed back and forth, and by the 3rd day we were spending hours on the phone. We met within 2 weeks of first contacting each other. It was love at first sight for both of us. Fast forward 13 months I still can't believe it! I'm in Vegas with the woman that's about to become my wife. Life is GREAT! Fast forward 1 year It's here! Diane and I have been married for a year on the 11th. I've never known such joy and peace. The depression that I've lived with for so long is all but forgotten. All I needed was that "missing piece" of my heart to complete me. Diane is that piece. Thank you Diane for contacting me, for calling me, for marrying me, and for loving me. You have my love now. You have my love always!

""Senior" personal ads

Some "Senior" personal ads seen in Florida newspapers:
(Who says seniors don't have a sense of humor?)

FOXY LADY:
Sexy, fashion-conscious blue-haired beauty,
80's, slim, 5'4" (used to be 5'6"), searching for

sharp-looking, sharp-dressing companion.
matching white shoes and belt a plus.

LONG-TERM COMMITMENT:
Recent widow who has just buried fourth husband,

and am looking for someone to round out a six-unit plot.
Dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath not a problem.

SERENITY NOW:
I am into solitude, long walks, sunrises, the ocean, yoga
and meditation.

If you are the silent type, let's get together,
take our hearing aids out and enjoy quiet times.

WINNING SMILE:

Active grandmother with original teeth seekinga dedicated flosser

to share rare steaks, corn on the cob and caramel candy

BEATLES OR STONES?
I still like to rock, still like to cruise in my Camaro on

Saturday nights and still like to play the guitar.
If you were a groovy chick, or are now a groovy hen,
let's get together and listen to my eight-track tapes.

MEMORIES:
I can usually remember Monday through Thursday.
If you can remember Friday, Saturday and Sunday,

let's put our two heads together.

MINT CONDITION:
Male, 1932, high mileage, good condition, some hair,
many new parts including hip, knee, cornea, valves.
Isn't in running condition, but walks well

Our job is to help you, as we have thousands of others, make the amazing 60-mile walk rewarding - personally, and in terms of funds raised. From the moment you register you'll have access to personal coaching, which will help you develop an individual training and fundraising plan. You'll also have access to robust online resources, including your support handbook, a personalized fundraising web page and a network of volunteer leaders.
